Russia and Ukraine continue their offensive on the information front.

The belligerents accuse each other of being at the origin of the accident of the Russian fighter plane, which was transporting Ukrainian prisoners of war.

Images provided by the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, released Thursday evening, show the site where the IL-76 crashed in the Bolgorod region, near the Ukrainian border. Each party is carrying out its investigation, and it is impossible for the UN to verify the material elements which would make it possible to determine the causes of the damage.

“We understand that Russia and Ukraine are conducting separate investigations into the incident,” said Rosemary di Carlo, UN deputy secretary-general, “and Ukraine has called for an international investigation. The United Nations is not unable to verify these reports or the circumstances of the accident.”

On the Ukrainian side, strikes carried out by Moscow have left several people injured in residential areas and caused significant damage to infrastructure in the Odessa region over the past two days. In this region as in that of Mikolayiv, eleven Russian drones were shot down during the night from Wednesday to Thursday, according to the Ukrainian authorities.
