A Russian military plane crashed with fifteen people on board on Tuesday in the Ivanovo region, northwest of Moscow,

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the accident was caused by a fire in one of the plane’s engines during takeoff.

Numerous videos posted on social networks show the plane, an Iliouchine 76 at low altitude, its right engine in flames, before an explosion in the forest.

An investigation will be launched by the military authorities to determine the precise causes of the crash.
