Moscow accuses Kyiv of shooting down the military transport plane that crashed Wednesday in the Belgorod region, 45 kilometers from the border with Ukraine.
According to Russia, 65 Ukrainian prisoners of war were on board the plane.
A prisoner exchange was planned and, according to Moscow, Ukrainian anti-aircraft defenses fired two missiles at the aircraft.
Volodymyr Zelensky, for his part, calls for “establish the facts”.
An exchange of prisoners was indeed planned in the Belgorod region.
For the moment, Kyiv does not confirm having shot down the plane and provides no explanation.
Russian strikes continue
