Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that Kyiv’s troops had captured the Russian town of Sudja, about ten kilometers from the border, from where they will continue their operations in the Kursk region.

A take attested by satellite images of the region. One of them shows the damage caused to a Russian airbase after a Ukrainian drone attack.

According to experts, this attack could be a diversion to prevent Russian air forces from attacking Ukraine… but also to hinder Moscow’s advance in Donbas.

For his part, Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov said that a plan was being prepared to protect the border regions: “We will increase the efficiency of the command and control system of troops and cooperation with other law enforcement agencies and the administration of the Belgorod region, identify those responsible for the allocation of additional forces and means that will be sent to perform the main tasks.”

Russia has declared a federal state of emergency in the Belgorod region. Local authorities say more than 120,000 people have been evacuated from the Kursk region.

Ukrainian Army Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrsky says Kyiv now controls 82 settlements and 1,150 square kilometers in Kursk Oblast and is establishing a military administration there.
