Russia: the Supreme Court rejects the appeal of opponent Boris Nadejdine

The 60-year-old opponent is a veteran of politics in Russia. He announced on February 8 that the Electoral Commission had rejected his candidacy and that he wanted to challenge this decision in court.

He wanted to be the candidate who would oppose Vladimir Putin and the war in Ukraine. While the Electoral Commission had rejected his presidential candidacy for “irregularities”, Boris Nadejdine had taken the matter to the Supreme Court.

The latter has just rendered its decision: it rejects the appeal of the Russian opponent. On social networks, Boris Nadejdine announced that he was going to challenge this legal decision.

The vote will be held from March 15 to 17. Vladimir Putin, 71, is running for a fifth six-year term.
