Romania: Tate brothers detained for sexual assault


Police have announced that they have detained influencer Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan, following an accusation of sexual assault committed in the United Kingdom. The British judicial authorities had issued two European arrest warrants against them.

Influencer Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan are detained in Romania under an arrest warrant issued by British authorities.

They were detained over allegations of sexual assault in connection with a British case dating back to 2012-2015.

The two brothers, of British and American nationality, reside in Romania, where they are accused, in a separate case, of rape, human trafficking and the formation of a criminal gang with the aim of sexually exploiting women.

They were arrested near Bucharest in December 2022, and after being imprisoned and then placed under house arrest, they are awaiting trial.
