The Palestinian leadership anticipated the visit of US President Donald Trump to 3 Gulf states, Saudi Arabia, the Emirates and Qatar this week, with a tour of Hussein Al -Sheikh, the Palestinian Vice President, which started in Saudi Arabia, then Egypt and Qatar and ended in Jordan.
During his tour, the sheikh renewed that the priority at this stage for the Palestinian leadership and its movements “stop the war and urgent relief and release the hostages and the prisoners.”
He stressed in a post on his account with the “X” platform at the beginning of his tour, “then move to a new stage that leads to the Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, and to enter into a comprehensive political process based on international legitimacy and implement the two -state solution.”
Trump is visiting Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, respectively, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the UAE. Although Palestine and Israel are not within the visit schedule, the aggression on Gaza imposes itself, according to analysts, what is expected from a Palestinian visit? Is there a horizon to stop the war and start a political process?
The priority of the President and the Palestinian leadership in its current movements is to stop this criminal war against our Palestinian people, the urgent relief, the release of the hostages and the prisoners, and then to move to a new stage that leads to the Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, and entering into a comprehensive political process based on legitimacy …

Political cover
On the goal of the Sheikh’s tour, the writer and political analyst Ahmed Abu Al -Heija tells Al -Jazeera Net that what matters to the Palestinian Authority to have a role in the post -ceasefire in Gaza, but he adds that the role is “unclear and it is also unclear how clear the United States recognizes this role.”
He adds that one of the goals of the Sheikh tour is “obtaining a regional and Arab political cover after his appointment as Vice President, as if he wanted to say that this appointment was based on consensus, participation and regional consultation, specifically from Saudi Arabia.”
In the opinion of the Palestinian writer, everything that the Palestinian Authority seeks in the coming period is “the strategy of staying and to preserve the Arab political cover and regional legitimacy to lead to a political cover and possibly American legitimacy to continue to survive and deal with it in light of the annexation plans carried out by the Israeli government.”
Abu Al -Heija does not expect higher than the ceiling to continue to recognize the traditional role and remain power in the current leadership pattern, ruling out the presence of a higher ceiling during Trump’s visit. “
In any case, the Palestinian writer excludes “any form of political penetration in the next stage,” adding that the Palestinian issue is neither a priority of Trump nor on the agenda of this visit at all. “
Payment of normalization and guidance
For his part, the American affairs expert and lecturer at the Arab American League, Dr. Ayman Youssef, believes that files are more important than the Palestinian issue that tops Trump’s agenda, including “building a clear American vision for the Middle East as a whole: the Iranian nuclear file, the relationship with Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Egypt and even the Yemeni file, and certainly the Palestinian file and aggression on Gaza will be one of the particles.”
In his speech to Al -Jazeera Net, he added that Trump “will focus in one way or another on the economic peace model and push the normalization between Israel and some Arab countries forward.”
Nevertheless, he does not rule out pressure on Israel and its Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu “to end the battle in the Gaza Strip or end the war, but not permanently or strategically.”
Trump is likely to move towards a deal to launch some Israeli prisoners in Gaza because that was one of his electoral slogans, and from here he might press the way to go to a truce.
Despite the crisis in the personal relationship between Netanyahu and Trump, the Palestinian analyst says that the US -Israeli relations are “structurally structural and ties.”
On the chances of opening a political-Israeli political path, Youssef adds, “It is possible to talk about opening a political path towards normalization with the Arabs in exchange for resolving the Palestinian issue. This is a proposal that exists in Trump’s talk specifically with the Saudis, but I do not think that there is a breakthrough at the Palestinian-Israeli level because the Palestinians are not serious; because the division on the one hand, and the presence of a right-wing government in Israel with a prime minister intransigent on the other hand.”
The Palestinian academic returned to confirm that “Trump is studying the region with all its files and appointed to China, Russia, Ukraine and the Chinese Pakistani conflict, as it is concerned with the American leadership of the region.”

Especially significance
As for the Palestinian writer and political analyst Moeen Odeh, who is residing in the United States, and with his indication of the importance of the visit of any American president to the Middle East, he sees special importance for Trump’s visit in light of the continued Israeli war on the Gaza Strip and severe tensions even worldwide.
He added that the difference between Trump’s visit to the region in 2017 and his visit this week that the first included Israel, but this time mostly will not visit it and will be satisfied with visiting some Arab countries “and this in itself is a clear message that the political agenda of this visit is not large and perhaps not exist.”
He added that “the files on the agenda of the visit are economic, whether in favor of Trump, or the United States, where there is a very big desire to sign the largest amount of economic contracts, and to persuade the Gulf states to invest in more money in America, without neglecting the trade war with China and his desire for the Arabs to stand by it.”
According to the Palestinian writer, even Iran’s file is late in the economic files, yet it seeks to contain as much as possible and defuse any military confrontation with it, using Gulf and Omani mediation specifically to try to reach a new nuclear agreement.
He expected the return of “little talk” about the situation in Gaza and the Palestinian -Israeli conflict, despite their presence in the minds and minds of Arab governments, and in Trump’s mind.

Initiative and guide
It is likely that Trump seeks to end the full Israeli siege and starvation in Gaza with his arrival in the Middle East, as it appears that such an agreement may see the light within two weeks or less and will allow it to enter food and drinking water to Gaza, as a good -intentioned gesture from Trump and the American administration of the Gulf states to show good intentions or desire even to end this war, and reach long -term agreements To stop the fire. “
Odeh indicates that Trump as a businessman believes in deals, but he discovered that political deals in the Middle East and the rest of the world are not easily the real estate deals he was holding, and thus decided to stop trying to pressure on one party, which is the Palestinian party, and currently there is an American desire to end this war.
Without raising the ceiling of expectations, the Palestinian analyst does not enslave that the American administration has reached the stage of extreme fatigue from Netanyahu and perhaps a message was sent to him “We (the United States) who decide in the Middle East” and this was evident in stopping the attacks on the Houthis and direct talk with Hamas and the current conversation with the Iranians; They are all files that Israel strongly rejects, and she did not think that the United States would make it, but it has made them in an unexpected form.

Trump changed
Odeh indicates that Trump’s talk today is different from him 3 months ago, as he started his speech with great statements about the deportation of the residents of Gaza, but today he ignores his words, and there is an implicit American recognition that the Israeli army failed to achieve results on the ground, as well as that the continuation of the war for a long time is harmful to America and the American economy, so it seeks to calm this file.
Odeh suggested that the introduction of aid follows additional steps to try to get the hostages on the one hand and stop long -term fire on the other hand.
He adds that it is unclear if there is a political process in the near future, but it will partially reduce the suffering of the Gazans in the hope that the Arabs will try to pressure Trump through their investments and financial capabilities to try to achieve – at least – to stop the war in Gaza.
