The United States announced yesterday, Thursday, that a new “institution” will soon take over the task of managing and distributing humanitarian aid in Gaza, in light of the occupation prohibiting the entry of aid to the sector that has been facing famine since the second of last March.
The US State Department spokeswoman, Tami Bruce, said, but she did not provide further details, saying – in an interview with reporters – that the relevant institution will soon issue an advertisement in this regard.
“We are a few steps away from this solution, from the possibility of providing aid and food to the needy in the sector,” she added.
In response to a question about the absence of the role of the United Nations in this regard, Bruce said that “the infinite press data and the appeasement of Hamas did not provide food, medicine or shelter for its needy,” as described.
“We cannot allow (aid) in the hands of terrorists such as Hamas,” she added, reaffirmed Washington’s position that the movement bears “full responsibility” for the ongoing humanitarian catastrophe in the sector, according to its claim.
US President Donald Trump had promised earlier this week to issue a “very important declaration” before his journey to the Middle East next week, at the same time refusing to reveal any detail about the nature of this announcement.

It is not much known about the institution that Bruce spoke about, but a non -profit organization was registered under the name “Gaza Humanitarian Foundation” in Switzerland last February, based in Geneva.
The Swiss newspaper “Lotan” reported that the Foundation seeks to employ what they described as “mercenaries” to ensure the security distribution security.
Amnesty International in Switzerland has expressed concern about this issue, warning that such a step could contradict international law.
The Associated Press had a proposal from the newly created group, the “Gaza Humanitarian Foundation”, to implement a new aid distribution system that replaces the current system run by the United Nations and other international relief agencies.
The 14 -page proposal offered plans similar to those that Israel has secretly discussed for weeks with international relief groups.
Under the proposal of the new group, the Palestinians will receive pre -packed foods, drinking water, cleaning tool groups, covers, and other supplies in distribution centers.
The United Nations and relief groups have rejected Israel’s movements to control the distribution of aid.
A United Nations official said last week that Israel’s plans “will use aid as a weapon” by setting restrictions on those entitled to obtain them.
