Activists interacted with the debate that took place between French President Emmanuel Macron and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, as some considered him evidence of Israel’s standing of the accused, while others considered it double standards.
According to the 15/5/15/10 episode of the “Networks” program, Macron renewed his sharp statements against Netanyahu and his government, regarding the war on Gaza, where he criticized in an interview with the first French channel two days ago the humanitarian crisis in the Strip.
“I say firmly that what the Netanyahu government is doing today in Gaza is unacceptable, and the humanitarian crisis is now the most dangerous since October 2023,” Macron said in the interview.
“There is no water, there is no medicine, and we cannot remove the injured, and doctors cannot enter … What Netanyahu is doing is shameful, and therefore we must fight until the Rafah crossing is reopened first, because it is a matter of life or death.”
The French president was not satisfied with criticizing the humanitarian situation in Gaza, but he threatened to “reconsider the cooperation agreements between the European Union and Israel for.”
After these statements, Netanyahu’s office was quick to respond through a statement in which he said that the French president “chose again to stand with a deadly terrorist Islamic organization and repeat its false propaganda, accusing Israel of committing bloody fabrications.” Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz also said, “President Macron should not give us lessons in ethics.”

It is noteworthy that the 1995 partnership agreement between the European Union and Israel is the main legal framework that regulates relations between the two parties, and stipulates in its second clause that the relations between them are based on respecting human rights and democratic principles.
But the abolition or amendment of any European agreement stimulated with any country that is not in the hand of Macron, because this requires a decision of the European Union Council, to vote the majority of member states.
