A prominent American writer close to Israel, Thomas Friedman, sent a message to President Donald Trump, explaining to him his admiration for his recent deal with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, stressing that this government is not an ally of the United States, and that it behaves in a way that threatens American interests in the region.

In his column in his column in the New York Times – Trump, Trump said that his exclusion from Israel from his upcoming tour in the Middle East as well as negotiating independently with Hamas, Iran and the Houthis is a clear message that Netanyahu has no influence over the American president, indicating that this ignorance undoubtedly hit Netanyahu and those with him panic.

Friedman added that the Israeli people still see themselves as a strong ally of the American people and vice versa, but he added that the current Netanyahu government is never a real ally of the United States, because it is the first government in the history of Israel its priority to include the West Bank and the expulsion of the Palestinians from the Gaza Strip, and the rebuilding of settlements there, instead of achieving peace with its Arab neighbors.

The stability of the region

In his message to Trump, Friedman affirmed that his lack of allowing Netanyahu to control his actions as he did with other American presidents as a matter that is calculated for him, stressing the need to preserve the American security structure that was built by former presidents in the region after the 1973 war, which has been serving the American geopolitical and economic interests, and Netanyahu is seeking to undermine it now.

In his message to Trump, the American writer continued that this security structure relied mainly on an American -Israeli commitment to the success of the two -state solution, “It is an obligation that you yourself tried to advance in your first state through your plan to establish a Palestinian state in Gaza and the West Bank, provided that the Palestinians recognize Israel, and accept that their state be demilitarized,” as he put it.

He stated that Netanyahu rejected what the United States demanded because the Jewish extremists in his government threatened to drop it if he did so, knowing that Netanyahu himself is keen to keep his position, which guarantees him political immunity and allows him to procrastinate in judicial procedures and avoid prison, preferring his interest in the interest of the United States and even Israel itself.

Friedman added that Netanyahu continued to avoid implementing American demands, especially those related to opening a dialogue with the Palestinian Authority on a two -state solution, in exchange for the success of the path of normalization with Arab countries, and the exclusion of China and Iran from the region.

The worst may be coming

He continued in his message that the worst may be coming, as Netanyahu is preparing to invade Gaza with the aim of cramming the Palestinians in a narrow corner between the Mediterranean and the Egyptian borders, as it accelerates the inclusion of parts of the West Bank actually, and this will expose Israel to accusing more war crimes, and it will ask Netanyahu from US President Trump to protect him from it.

After Thomas Friedman criticized Hamas, he said that Netanyahu’s plan does not aim to find a moderate alternative to Hamas in Gaza under the leadership of the Palestinian Authority, but rather to a permanent military occupation that pushes the Palestinians to forced migration, describing this as a new Vietnam on the Mediterranean Beach.

Friedman told Trump by saying that Netanyahu’s plans will threaten the stability of neighboring countries, and was quoted by Lee Hans Vixel, a former political advisor at the US Central Command as saying: “The more the Palestinians despair, the less the region’s willingness to expand the American -Israeli -Israeli security integration, which could have achieved long -term gains against Iran and China, and without the need for large American military resources to preserve it.”

Friedman Trump addressed: “Mr. President, you have a good independent intuition about the Middle East, follow it, otherwise you should prepare for this fact that is looming on the horizon: your Jewish grandchildren will be the first generation of Jewish children growing up in a world in which the Jewish state is a pariah state.”

For reference, Fansa, the son of Trump, married in 2009, Jarid Kushner, the former adviser to Trump in his first term, is of Jewish origin, after she converted to Jewish religion; And together they have 3 children.
