A source in the ongoing negotiations in Doha criticized a ceasefire agreement in Gaza, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, while White House officials confirmed that US President Donald Trump was frustrated by the ongoing war in Gaza.

The Times of Israel quoted a source in the negotiations as saying that the statement of the Netanyahu office, which claimed to accept the proposal of the American envoy Steve Witkev, does not accurately reflect the status of talks.

The source added that the mediators are working to push the two parties to make concessions, and it is not only related to pending the approval of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), and pointed out that the negotiators are trying to reach a temporary deal on the detainees.

The source said that “the lack of deep confidence between the two sides is difficult to reach a possible agreement,” he pointed out that the Israeli team that was summoned from Doha does not play a key role in the talks.

The Netanyahu office announced yesterday that “the high -level negotiating team will return to Israel to consult and remain the technical team, after about a week of contacts in Doha.”

The office added that Israel agreed to a proposal to return to the return of the detainees, and claimed that Hamas was still adhering to its rejection until now.

Trump and Netanyahu

In Washington, Axius quoted White House officials that President Trump was frustrated by the ongoing war in Gaza and that he asked his aides to tell Netanyahu that he wanted to end the matter.

A White House official explained that Trump is annoyed by the pictures of children and infants who suffer in Gaza and pressed the Israelis to reopen the crossings.

According to the same official, Trump felt his success to the Middle East, but he believes that the war in Gaza hinders his plans for the region, as he sees a real opportunity for peace and prosperity in the region, but the war in Gaza is the last hot focus and wants to end.

The US official added that the war is distracted from other matters that Trump wants to do and there is a lot of frustration due to the prolongation of this crisis.

The site said – quoting an Israeli official – that Netanyahu does not currently feel a great pressure from Trump to reach an agreement on Gaza, and the Israeli official added that if Trump wants an agreement to release the detainees and a ceasefire in Gaza, he must exercise more pressure on both sides.

An attempt to mislead

The Hamas movement had issued a statement yesterday, accusing Netanyahu of entering into the talks in bad faith, saying that he pretended to participate in an attempt to mislead world public opinion.

The movement added, “We promise the continued presence of the Zionist delegation sent to Doha, despite its lack of any authority to reach an agreement, an open attempt by Netanyahu to mislead world public opinion, and false demonstration to participate in the negotiating process, as he continues to extend the residence of his delegation a day without entering into any serious negotiations, as no real negotiations have been held since last Saturday.”

Hamas added – in a statement – that Netanyahu’s statements regarding the introduction of aid to the Gaza Strip are an attempt to sow ash into the eyes and deceive the international community, as no truck has entered the Strip until now, including those that have reached the Karam Abu Salem crossing and no international entity was received.

The movement emphasized that the escalation of the aggression and the deliberate bombing of the civil infrastructure, and the perpetration of brutal massacres exposes Netanyahu’s intentions that reject any settlement and reveal its adherence to the option of war and destruction.

For its part, the families of the Israeli prisoners in Gaza said that “the return of the negotiating team from Doha confirms that the government does not have a real plan to stop the war, as it means the loss of the prisoners and the drowning of Gaza’s solution and the payment of soldiers is a great price.”

The Israeli prisoners’ families added – in a statement – that the majority of the people support the return of all prisoners even if it is at the expense of stopping the fighting in Gaza.

While a survey of the Israeli channel 13 revealed that 67% of the Israelis support a deal that ends the war and restores all the prisoners, while only 22% of the Israelis reject a deal that ends the war.
