In 2017, a group of Palestinian and Arab youth met under the umbrella of the passion by providing space for creativity and carrying the memories and events of the Palestinian identity, and they are a dream of organizing creative events, and the dream soon embodied in the form of the platform “Lahah” inspired by the global “Tenx” experience.

“We wanted to give the Palestinians and the creative Arabs a space to express their artistic and literary stories and ideas about Palestine, and to highlight the creative and human aspect away from the image of pain and misery prevailing from the camps,” the founder of the platform, Dr. Mohamed Amr.

Lamah is known on its website as a platform that aims to provide an opportunity for generations who are less than 20 years around the world to spread inspiring ideas, stories and arts in all fields, in addition to spreading awareness, inspiration, knowledge and hope by finding modern Arab content and enhancing positive dialogue around it.

Lamah’s goals

In an interview with Al -Jazeera Net, the founder of the platform notes that “the first goal of the establishment of the platform was the production of content in Arabic that focuses on the Palestinian dimension, but with a creative flavor different from what is prevalent.”

He added, “We wanted to give the Palestinian youth – and the Arab in general – the opportunity to express itself, art and literature related to Palestine, and we also focused on highlighting Palestinian or creative Arab symbols and unknown to present them to the wide audience.”

Among the goals also to revive the Palestinian memory and introduce the history of the case, especially the events of the Nakba and the issue of Palestinian refugees.

Amr notes that what “we care about is to present the Palestinian in a different way, the image of the creator, artist and writer, and not only the image of the pain and suffering that we find in all stages of the Palestinian struggle.” He indicated that they succeeded in this by “presenting the success stories of Palestinian youth in the homeland and diaspora, and then changing the stereotype and presenting models capable of influencing and creating.”

“Louma” began a Palestinian platform, but it quickly expanded to include Arab youth in general, provided that their contributions are related to Palestine, and the platform hosted participants of different nationalities, and their performance was distinguished and inspiring, which strengthened the idea of Arab convergence on the ground of the Palestinian issue, according to what Amr told Al -Jazeera Net.

With the continued Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, the founder of the platform confirmed that it is committed to highlighting the relevant artistic and literary works in Gaza and Palestine, by documenting and publishing all the arts, stories and novels related to these issues.

He added that despite the difficulty of organizing activities on the ground at the present time due to the difficult circumstances in the sector, we “are trying to remain an active part of conveying the message of Palestinian art and creativity, whatever the challenges.”

Amr pointed out that they are working on a new program that includes the establishment of a small “lasa” in more than one place, and it is attended by a smaller number of participants, and later gathered in one “lame” comprehensive in each country, in order to allow the opportunity for the largest number of participants, those with thought, arts and creators.

Also, one of the programs that the platform is working on is the preservation of the Palestinian memory is alive between different generations, from the Nakba until the current events, through the testimonies that contemporaries tell them or those who lived their events, in the Palestinian interior or in the diaspora.
