This was not the first time that the journalist cooperating with Al -Jazeera, Net Ismail Mqbel, lost members of his family during the war of the ongoing extermination of the Gaza Strip for about 19 months, but this time the tragedy was the biggest and most painful.

In a bombing targeting a populated house in Jabalia camp in the northern Gaza Strip, more than 15 individuals from the Muqbel family, including relatives, children and women, were killed in another tragic scene added to the crime record against civilians in Gaza.

“I received the news with great shock”

In his interview with “Al -Jazeera Net”, the journalist Ismail Muqbel tells the details of the first moments to receive the news of the massacre, saying, “I received the news with great shock, because their number was very large .. The catastrophe could be greater than that, but, thank God, most of them were displaced almost a week ago because of the large crowd at home. If they remained at home, the massacre would be doubled.”

He pointed out that his cousin Alaa and his wife are the only survivors of the massacre, as they lived in a room above the house that was bombed from the bottom, which prevented them from being hit.

Frequent trauma

This loss was not the first for the family, as he was accepted by his older brother Ahmed, after a bombing targeting a shelter in Jabalia. Two of his aunts were also martyred with their husbands and grandchildren, after they were displaced from north to south in search of safety.

Journalist Ismail Muqbel indicates that among the victims of the massacre is also his uncle “Abu Alaa”, 55, one of the most prominent nurses in the northern Gaza Strip, who was working in Al -Rantisi Hospital and Al -Nasr Children’s Hospital.

Despite the intensification of the shelling and the deterioration of the situation, Abu Alaa continued to perform his humanitarian duty in the two hospitals throughout the war, risking his life in order to save others, although his wife was suffering from chronic diseases and needed oxygen constantly, which constituted a great challenge to the family in preserving her life amid the collapse of the health system in the sector.

“I expect that he has been targeted because of his medical work,” says journalist.

A dream is not complete

At the end of his speech, the journalist narrates a future scene about one of his relatives, “My cousin was on a date with his fiancée on the same day for the legal view, and he bought clothes specifically for this occasion, but the bombing of his surprise before he fulfilled his dream, in a scene that reduces the cruelty of life in the besieged Gaza.”

Israel has committed absolute American support since October 7, 2023 genocide in Gaza, which left about 173,000 between a martyr and a wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 11,000 missing.
