Today, Monday, the Israeli occupation authorities released 10 Palestinian prisoners from the northern Gaza Strip, after months of arbitrary detention during the land invasion in October 2023.

The released prisoners were transferred directly to the Al -Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in the city of Deir Al -Balah in the center of the sector, and they are in a difficult health condition, according to the Red Cross crew and local medical sources.

The prisoners arrived in the Gaza Strip through the “Kissovim” portal, east of Deir Al -Balah, by vehicles belonging to the International Committee of the Red Cross, which supervised the release process.

Reports indicate that the prisoners were subjected to torture and abuse during their detention in the “Sidé Timan” military prison, one of the detention centers after the “Al -Aqsa Flood” operation, which is known for its harsh conditions and the lack of legal or legal control.

The Prisoners’ Information Office, affiliated with the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), confirmed that the 10 prisoners suffer from severe health complications, as a result of what he described as “arbitrary measures and brutal violations practiced inside Israeli prisons against Palestinian detainees.”

The following are the names of the prisoners who were released, all of whom are from the northern Gaza Strip towns:

  1. Abdullah Muhammad Ali Masoud (42 years) – Beit Lahia
  2. Muhammad Mahmoud Hussein Aziz (47 years old) – Jabalia camp
  3. Muhammad Hussein Muhammad Abu Dan (31 years) – Beit Lahia
  4. Ismail Fadl Ahmed Awaida (30 years) – Beit Lahia
  5. Samir Muhammad Ali Al -Arqoub, 54, Jabalia camp
  6. Ahmed Saeed Khamis Hamdouna (43 years) – Beit Lahia
  7. Bakr Shaban Ahmed Awaida (47 years old) – Beit Lahia
  8. Salah Ahmed Ramadan Al -Daour (40 years) – Jabalia camp
  9. Ahmed Hatem Abdel -Rajab (24 years) – Beit Lahia
  10. Muhammad Tahsin Saleh Salah (22 years) – Jabalia camp

Violations against Palestinian prisoners

This step comes in light of continuous reports on systematic violations against Palestinian prisoners, especially those who were arrested after October 7, 2023.

Also, the number of martyrs from Palestinian prisoners since that date reached 66, which raises the number of martyrs of the captive movement to 303 martyrs since 1967, according to the Prisoners’ Information Office.

The International Committee of the Red Cross also revealed that it is still prohibited from visiting Israeli prisons since October 2023, which deprives it of monitoring the conditions of the prisoners and the conditions of their detention, in a clear violation of international humanitarian law.

According to the statistics of the Prisoners’ Media Office until the beginning of April 2025, the number of Palestinian prisoners and detainees in the occupation prisons exceeds 9900 detainees, including 3,498 administrative detainees without charge or trial, and at least 400 children, and 29 women.

The occupation authorities classify about 1747 prisoners from Gaza as “illegal fighters”, a dangerous description that is used to strip them of international legal protection, and they are allowed to be detained in closed military camps that are not subject to any control.

The testimonies of the freed prisoners confirm the existence of severe violations, including physical and psychological torture, deliberate medical negligence, solitary confinement, deprivation of food and health care, within the framework of a systematic punitive policy supervised by higher bodies in the occupation government, led by the Minister of National Security Extremist Etamar bin Ghafir.

These practices, according to experts in international law, are explicit violations of the Fourth Geneva Treaty, and have been promoted to war crimes and crimes against humanity, in light of an international silence applied and clear Western collusion.
