International newspapers highlighted Israel’s intensification of its missile attacks in its ongoing war on the Gaza Strip, ignoring international warnings, in addition to regional files related to the Syrian and Iranian files.
The French newspaper Le Monde said that the continuation of the Israeli attacks on Gaza reflects the neglect of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
In its report, the newspaper ruled out Israel’s retreat from its position, even in light of what it considered it the most severe international pressure wave that has been exposed to it since the beginning of the war, noting harsh criticism from European leaders of the behavior of the Netanyahu government, including those who are strongly supporters of Israel.
Le Monde commented on US officials’ communication with the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) directly by saying that Netanyahu insists on his position instead of feeling anxious about this move.
An article in the British Guardian newspaper concluded that the tour of US President Donald Trump in the Middle East revealed progress in nuclear negotiations with Iran and the lifting of sanctions on Syria, but it was not new to Gaza.
According to the article, Netanyahu is preparing to expand the scope of military attacks inside the Strip, noting that the Israeli government does not want Trump more than continuing silence and ignoring American diplomacy to the Gaza file.
The American Wall Street Journal focused on Trump’s talk about the possibility of a nuclear agreement with Iran soon.
Most of the indicators – according to the newspaper – suggest that the goal of Washington and Tehran is “setting a consensual framework instead of completing a detailed agreement, given that each party finds it difficult to waive on the issue of uranium enrichment.”
The newspaper quoted an analyst as saying that the statements of the two sides are addressed to the local electoral districts, while making sure to show that they are not easily given.
In turn, he saw an article in the Israeli newspaper Haaretz in Trump’s meeting with Syrian President Ahmed Al -Shara, a sign of a significant decline in Israeli influence in the United States.
According to the article, Trump’s announcement of lifting sanctions on Syria sends a strong message to the whole region, including Israel, and the lobby is the defender of Israel’s interests in the United States in an embarrassing position.
The move confirms that Israel is losing its position in the region with the conversion of its strategy focus only on the ways of the survival of Netanyahu in power, according to the article.
In a related context, the American New York Times said that businessmen in Syria are optimistic about Trump’s declaration of the sanctions imposed on Syria, especially after European governments announced the alleviation of some restrictions to help the new leadership move forward.
The newspaper pointed out that the Syrians are aware of the link between economic recovery, security and the return of millions who were forced by the war to leave the country.
She said, “The economy will not improve without the lifting of sanctions, and security will not be established without economic recovery, and the Syrians will not return if they do not feel safe.”
