On Saturday, the American Ambassador to Israel, Mike Hakapi, renewed his country’s support for the displacement of the Palestinians from the Gaza Strip despite the broad regional and international rejection, in light of the continuation of the annihilation war practiced by Tel Aviv on the Strip since October 2023.

Hakapi said in an interview with the Israeli Channel 12 that the US administration “does not yet have a detailed plan for the next day stage in the Gaza Strip, but it supports the idea of providing the way for those who wish to leave the Strip,” adding that the reconstruction of Gaza “will be with the participation of the Arab Gulf states.”

The Ambassador blamed the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) for delaying the conclusion of a deal to exchange prisoners and a ceasefire, considering that it is the “only obstacle”, as he claimed.

Regarding the upcoming round of US President Donald Trump in the Middle East – which will include countries in the region without going through Israel – Hakapi said, “The visit focuses on economic opportunities.”

Hakapi denied the existence of any political connotations behind the ignorance of Israel, stressing that Trump “spent time with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu more than any other leader.”

Since last January, Trump has been promoting a plan to displace Palestinians from the Gaza Strip to neighboring countries such as Egypt and Jordan, which was rejected by the two countries, and other Arab countries and regional and international organizations have joined them.

On the other hand, Egypt presented an Arab and Islamic plan to rebuild Gaza without the displacement of the Palestinians from it, but Trump and Netanyahu rejected the plan.

With absolute American support, Israel has committed since October 7, 2023 genocide in Gaza, which left more than 172,000 Palestinian martyrs and wounded – most of them children and women – and more than 11,000 missing.
