On Thursday, the World Health Organization ran out the alarm about the deteriorating health situation in Gaza, stressing that the time is running out to save lives in the besieged sector.
This comes as the UN Secretary -General of the United Nations Humanitarian Affairs, Tom Fletcher, said that Israel learned what is happening inside Gaza and participates with the United Nations in its evaluation of the scope of the risk of starvation.
The organization added that the health system suffers strongly, and faces a severe shortage of medicines, supplies and medical equipment.
She also explained that as a major provider of medical supplies in Gaza, her stocks are almost running out, threatening to stop many basic health services.
She said that the shipments are waiting for a few minutes, but the siege prevents them from entering, forcing hospitals to legalize their remaining supplies.
She pointed out that this situation reaps souls, calling for the need to stop the siege of aid.
A race against time
For his part, the World Food Program said that families in Gaza are starving, while the food they need on the border.
He explained that the latest food security analyzes confirm that the world is in a race against time to avoid starvation.
The program called on the international community to work urgently to provide aid to Gaza; Warning that if aid continues to be disrupted until a famine is confirmed, then it will be too late for many of the sector’s population.
On the other hand, the UN Secretary -General of the United Nations Humanitarian Affairs, Tom Fleischer, said that Israel has learned what is happening inside the Gaza Strip and that it is shared with the United Nations in its evaluation of the danger of starvation.
In an interview with Al -Jazeera, Fletcher added that the international organization was marginalized for 10 weeks and was unable to enter aid to Gaza.
“We have an excellent plan,” he added. “
The deputy spokesman for the United Nations Secretary -General Farhan Haq said that the international organization has a solid operating plan based on principles to provide humanitarian aid and widespread life rescue services within the Gaza Strip.
Haqq stressed that this plan is ready to implement it as soon as the crossings are opened, stressing that time is a decisive factor to prevent more deaths in the sector.
It should be noted that Israel has been committed with absolute American support since October 7, 2023 genocide and a starvation war in the Gaza Strip, which left about 173,000 Palestinians between a martyr and a wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 11 thousand missing.
