Experts believe that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is trying to prove that he is not affiliated with US President Donald Trump, by negotiating under fire, leading to a deal on his terms that make him able to continue to displace the residents of the Gaza Strip.
Netanyahu recently expressed some flexibility in the negotiations taking place, while his forces continue to remove the remainder of the sector’s buildings in preparation for the displacement of the population of the north and central to the south.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Saturday evening that he discussed with Netanyahu the efforts to release the prisoners, which indicates the proximity of an actual agreement, according to the first researcher at the Al -Jazeera Center for Studies, Dr. Yaqa Makki.
However, Makki stressed – during his participation in the “Path of Events” program – that the permanent Israeli denunciation of every agreement is the problem that will face any deal, because the American guarantee did not protect the previous agreement.
Resistance is in a difficult situation
However, Makki believes that the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) “has become in a more difficult situation because everyone presses it and no one presses Israel”, and then “the sacrifice of the resistance itself in exchange for the non -emptying of the sector from its residents will be a great success,” in his opinion.
Despite the difficulty of this proposal, Makki believes that Hamas “is subjected to military and humanitarian pressure in the Strip as well as American and Arab pressures, making its options limited, as well as the resistance will be generated again and more violently, while the residents of the Gaza Strip will not return again if they were displaced.”
Therefore, the first researcher at Al -Jazeera Center believes that the main goal of Hamas is currently thwarting the displacement plan that Israel has started to implement on the ground, while Trump has not wanted to end this file.
Makki concluded that Israel has known for many years that it would never control Gaza militarily, and then it decided to empty it from its residents, taking advantage of the world not doing anything.
Indeed, the occupation army demolished a thousand homes in the northern Gaza Strip and migrated about 300,000 Palestinians from the region within two days, according to the government media office in Gaza.
Netanyahu will pass a temporary deal
The Israeli expert, Dr. Muhannad Mustafa, believes that this military escalation coincides with the negotiations, which reflects Netanyahu’s desire to deliver a message that he is not a subordinate to Trump, and that he will negotiate under the fire, in order to reach an agreement on its terms.
Mustafa is asserting that Netanyahu wants a temporary truce at the present time even if it is necessary to flexibility in some contentious points as long as he will not adhere to ending the war, because this deal will reduce him internally and externally, and it will give him the opportunity to start again to complete the displacement process.
The reason for the possibility of reaching an agreement this time – in the opinion of Mustafa – that Netanyahu realizes that this is the last opportunity to save the living prisoners, and this is what makes him adhering to the restoration of at least half of them for a temporary truce even if it would reach two months.
The Israeli affairs expert believes that reaching a deal that will return 10 or more Israeli prisoners will be a major achievement for Netanyahu, who has become the actual controller of war and negotiations after getting rid of all his political and military opponents.
As for the military side, the expansion of the operations that Israel started is based on not withdrawing from the areas that will be controlled with the establishment of infrastructure, as Brigadier Elias Hanna says.
Through this operation, the occupation plans to deport the inhabitants of the North and Central also to the south while it is negotiated with a ceasefire, and this means that Netanyahu negotiates a reality while it changes it on the ground, in the opinion of Hanna.
The new plan – in the opinion of Hanna – shows the existence of new rules of engagement, which means that the resistance has no choice but the option of fighting because the delivery of the weapon means completely ending, and this is what drives it to try to exploit the living prisoners ’paper to impose a new reality.
In all cases, reducing the space of the movement of the resistance through destruction and the transportation of the population means that the next confrontation will be very violent because the occupation targets even the fighters and the destruction of tunnels, the military expert says.
