A leader in the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) – for the island – said that advanced and direct negotiations are currently taking place with the US administration on the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
The leader of Hamas revealed – to the island – that negotiations with the American administration have been underway for days, and are discussing the introduction of aid and the cessation of the ongoing war on the sector for more than a year and a half.

In the context, Axius reported – an informed source – that the American special envoy to the Middle East Stephen Witkev is discussing with Israel, Qatar and Egypt, and crossed with Hamas, regarding the launch of the prisoners and broad peace.
Meanwhile, the Israel Broadcasting Corporation reported that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will hold a mini meeting on Gaza, with the participation of a number of ministers and senior security establishments officials, to discuss the exchange deal or return to the fighting in Gaza.
On the other hand, the Israeli newspaper “Maariv” said that the mini cabinet for political and security affairs (cabinet) will be held today at 6:30 pm local time, before the US President’s visit to the Middle East, and in light of the extensive efforts to reach a ceasefire agreement.
American pressure
Earlier, Witkev expressed his hope that there will be progress in efforts to reach a ceasefire agreement and the release of prisoners in the Gaza Strip “before or during President Donald Trump’s visit” to the region.
The Israeli newspaper “Haaretz” also quoted an informed source before an informed source as saying that the American administration was exerting great pressure on Israel to reach an agreement with Hamas, in conjunction with the upcoming visit of the American President to the region in mid -May.

This comes after Israeli media reports stated that Trump decided to cut contacts with Netanyahu against the background of doubts that the latter was trying to manipulate him.
Israeli army radio correspondent Yanni Kozin stated that those around the American president told him that Netanyahu was manipulating him, which led him to cut off the contact with him, adding that this may change later “but this is the situation now,” he said.
The newspaper “Israel Hume” also quoted sources close to Trump as saying that he feels “disappointment” from Netanyahu, and intends to move and take “steps” in the Middle East “without waiting.”
