The Al -Quds Brigades – the military wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement – mourned 5 leaders and members of the Tamoun Company of the Tubas battalion, who were martyred this morning, Thursday, during an armed clash with the Israeli occupation forces in the town of Tammam, south of Tubas, north of the West Bank.
The Al-Quds-Tubas Tariba announced that its fighters had fought fierce clashes with the stormed forces, and confirmed that there were injuries to the Israeli army.
For its part, the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) mourned “the martyrs of the heroes of the heroes”, and called for “the soul and the escalation of the resistance against the occupation and its settlers.”
According to local sources and eyewitnesses, Israeli special forces stormed the town, and besieged an apartment in a 3 -storey building in the middle of Tamoun, before armed clashes broke out with the young people who were holed up inside the house, interspersed with missile shelling and demolitions.
The mayor of Tamoun, Samir Qutaishat, reported that the occupation forces killed 5 young men during the operation, and the bodies of 4 of them were detained, while the body of the fifth young man was found charred under the ruins of the apartment that was destroyed.
The member of the Municipal Council, Najeh Bani Odeh, confirmed that the occupation forces blew the target apartment after its bombing, which led to the suspension of the clashes, and then stormed the building with the bulldozers that destroyed the remainder of it.
Al -Jazeera obtained exclusive scenes documenting the abuse of soldiers with the bodies, and withdrawing them with an Israeli military bulldozer.
In turn, the Israeli occupation army announced in a statement that it was killed “5 gunmen” after they were monitored inside a fortified site, and said that he used shoulder missiles during the clash.
The occupation army was confiscated 3 guns and 4 bullets. He added that the group was planning a “major military attack”, noting the arrest of a sixth person.
According to local sources, the five martyrs are:
- Reda Kamal Bani Odeh.
- Ibrahim Bani Odeh.
- Islam Bani Odeh.
- Wadih Bani Odeh.
- Sahir Jad Allah, whose body was found charred after the forces withdrew.
An Israeli bombing
In another development, the occupation forces detonated a café located near Al -Quds Open University in Tubas, in a scene and trusted by video clips that showed the moment of the explosion and the escalation of smoke columns.
The Tamoun operation came hours after an armed attack carried out by a Palestinian near the settlement of “Brukin”, west of Salfit, north of the West Bank, killing an Israeli woman and wounding her husband, according to Israeli media.
The Chief of Staff of the Occupation Army, Eyal Zamir, vowed to use “all tools” to pursue the perpetrators of the attack, at a time when the Israeli escalation continues in the West Bank.
The occupied West Bank is witnessing a remarkable escalation in the attacks since the outbreak of the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023. According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, at least 934 Palestinians in the West Bank were martyred by the occupation army and settlers, while about 7,000 others were injured, and more than 17 thousand were arrested.
