On November 24, 2023, the date of the second birth of Al -Quwaniyah Marah Bakir, which was liberated in the exchange deal between the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and Israel weeks after the outbreak of Gaza, was recorded on January 25, the second birth also for the sacred Omar Sharif, who was liberated in the second exchange deal, both of them from Beit Hanina in occupied Jerusalem.
On that day, Omar saw the sun for the first time without the imprisonment fence, which blocks its rays after 21 and a half years of detention, and saw the fun of her rays after 8 years of families, and the fate would have entered the marital cage in the exile of Omar in Egypt after the occupation insisted on including his name in the list of deportees.
In the special dialogue that Al -Jazeera Net with the freed spouses talked about the change of her view of life after emancipation and the difficulty of integration into society, and Omar talked about the bitterness of exile and about the Arab state that he hopes to move and fun to live in the near future.
Both touched on the communication that occurred between them inside the prison as representatives of the prisoners, and how this communication planted the first seed in the way of linking.
The following is the full text of the dialogue:
-
How do the prisoners communicate with each other in prisons, and what is the importance of that?
age: I was working in one of the committees responsible for communicating with the weak groups, (isolated prisoners and patients in the Ramla Prison Hospital and Al -Surat), and this committee was one of the committees affiliated with the High Commission for Hamas Prisoners inside prisons, and the tasks of all committees to mitigate the suffering of the prisoners by organizing their lives and facing the challenges collectively organized.
Marah was the representative of the prisoners, and communication took place between us in late 2019 for legal issues that fall within the framework of an activity.
Communication between us was limited to administrative issues that provided us with a preliminary knowledge, and this acquaintance constituted an impression of each of us from the other, and we are in the process of preparing a book that documents our experience in which we will separate that later, God willing.
-
Did this communication with one of you to think one day to be linked to the other?
age: Yes, it is natural for a person to think of anyone who deals with him and asks himself to any extent he wants to develop this relationship, and the truth is that the matter started from the fun, and did not develop into a real correspondence that results in a situation.
cheerful: It started when an idea arose with it a lot of depth and questions, and this communication carried something different, but it remained the prisoner of the unannounced area, and did not exceed the limits of thinking to real actions.
Perhaps he was holding silent possibilities, but he remained an internal part of a special emotional journey, without turning into a clear position.

-
How does prison affect human thinking about the issue of marriage, does he think of the partner’s specifications in a different way from those who did not live the prison experience?
Omar and fun: The prison experience carries deep and complex psychological effects that may change an individual’s view of life radically, including the subject of marriage.
The prison puts a person in an isolated confrontation with himself, where moments of meditation and re -evaluation of priorities and values are intensified, and this isolation may generate an urgent need for real communication and emotional support, which leads a person to look at marriage in a different way in which a space for recovery and psychological integration is not related to attraction or surface compatibility only.
The person who came out of prison may become more aware of his human being and his need to a partner showing a deep understanding of his internal conflicts, and he may search for a person who is able to contain his suffering and support in rebuilding himself away from prejudices.
The imprisonment experience leads man to estimate the fundamental values such as sincerity, sympathy and patience, instead of the prevailing societal standards, as it reshapes human concepts about human relations, including the idea of marriage, at deep levels.
In prison, a person is forced to confront himself, think about the nature of time and loneliness, and the true value of the relationships that remain or disappear with the passage of events, and this meditation can lead the individual to a foresight about marriage, not as merely social or personal connection, but rather a commitment that takes root in the fundamental concepts of understanding and participation.
On the deepest level, some may see that prison makes a person wondering about the essence of the human relationship: Is it an appearance, or an act embodied in real solidarity? Hence, marriage for some can become a philosophical journey that reflects an attempt to understand the self through the other, and perhaps searching for the broader meaning of human ties.

Has your outlook on life changed after emancipation, and was it difficult to integrate again into society?
After emancipation, I found myself facing a reality charged with the challenges that cross the personal boundaries to the societal and political level.
The restrictions imposed by the occupation, from accurate monitoring and the prevention of the movement freely, were not just obstacles, but rather clear messages that the freedom that we received is not absolute, but conditional and besieged, and these restrictions put me in a direct confrontation with the real question and its meaning.
On the social level, the challenges were not less severe, and I felt that my experience inside the families made a non -visible wall between me and others, some hesitated to approach me or deal with me, perhaps out of fear of communicating with me under the eyes of the occupation, or out of the lack of understanding the depth of the experience that I went through, and even in normal moments, social interactions seemed to me as if they were continuous tests of my ability to adapt to a world that moves quickly during my absence.
At the internal level, the most complex confrontation was to redefine my identity in light of all these changes .. How do I find a place for me between a past carrying the weight of families and a present that requires absorbing daily challenges without losing those values that formed me?
This journey is not just a merger into a society, but it is a reformulation of a deep human experience, and liberation for me was not the end of registration, but rather a start to a new battle in order to restore life and its true meaning.
-
How does Omar now live his life in the forced deportation and what are your next steps? Where do you want to be the destination?
Dimensation is difficult, nostalgia for Jerusalem and the Al -Aqsa Mosque accompanies me, and hurts me to liberate and remain my country and my head, my head is raped, but I see the return close, as the occupation was delusional when I think that I would stay in prison throughout my life, it is also the most important thing about its survival on our land, and this is what the Holy Qur’an and history tell us.
The Republic of Egypt is now hosting, and our circumstances are not natural conditions, but rather the circumstances of the guest or refugee, and we seek to settle in one of the Arab countries, and Qatar is the nominated country until we return to our homeland and it is pure without abomination or impurity.

How did you think of applying to marry a fun after emancipation?
In prison, I did not know the form of fun, except what was published on the media from her arrest, but her strong personality drew my attention in front of the prison administration through what is transmitted from her, as well as during her conversation with the representatives of the leadership body of the Hamas prisoners.
When I was released in the exchange deal to Egypt, I continued what the media documented the moment of its release, and this was the first time that I saw it clearly, so I understood that I knocked on its door, so I watched, delayed and rested.
On March 27, she spoke with her family with the aim of acquaintance, and on April 17, we married, and we chose the Palestinian prisoner’s day to be the memory of our wedding because this day carries with the meanings of steadfastness and freedom that brings us together as one people.
The day of the prisoner is not a passing day, but rather a testimony to our firm belief that the restriction isolates the body and cannot conquer the will, and that hope is born from the womb of pain. On this day we celebrate the victory of the soul over the chains, and we renew the covenant that every rich right must be restored, and that every prisoner will be free in it.
How was your journey from Jerusalem to Egypt? Was it difficult for the fun to make the decision to link with a distant editor who may be the price of not returning to Jerusalem?
It was a journey full of challenges, the most difficult of which is after me from Jerusalem and stability outside the homeland .. Taking the decision to link to a distant editor who is not an easy decision and carries great challenges, the most severe of which is the distance from the homeland, family, friends and loved ones, and adapting a country with a new culture.
What I see no matter how much now is patience and strength. After 22 years, Omar spent inside the families now deserves to start a new, generous life, and he is a person who deserves all these sacrifices for his morals, good dealings, culture and unlimited patience.
The decision to link is emanating from very deep thinking and for a long time, and thank God it was great from God, as all of our affairs facilitated, and we decided after a week -long meeting in the presence of a number of family members to go to marriage .. Praise be to God for his choices for us, and the age deserves everything beautiful.
Omar Sharif Asir Makdisi, editor, from Beit Hanina in occupied Jerusalem, was arrested in 2003, and he was sentenced to life imprisonment 18 times, on charges of belonging to the Al -Qassam Brigades, and participating in the “Bus No. 14” operation, which resulted in the death of 18 settlers and the injury of 105 others, which came in response to the attempt to assassinate the former leader of Hamas … pic.twitter.com/vtQe3t022k

What caught the attention of both of you in his partner?
age: I caught my attention to the strong fun person first, because the prison departments were conveying to us talks about their positions and stubbornness, as well as their conversations with the leadership body of the Hamas prisoners, and I am as far as I need a strong life partner that bears the difficulties of alienation.
After my release, I drew my attention what the media documented on the day of its release, and that was the first time that I saw it clearly, and the truth is that the joint experience and culture are two important factors for the success of married life, I am fun and passed through the same experience and we belong to the same thought and culture.
cheerful: When I met Omar after emancipation, the meeting was full of a completely different feeling from what I imagined during his absence.
The meeting reduced mysterious and understandable feelings at the same time, as if his absence was not merely an absence, but a test of my patience and my feelings, and what I saw in it was more than one person who overcame families, it was a spirit that carried in its silence many of the stories that are still narrated.
The moment between us was more like a meeting with the self, full of clarity and silence that carries deeper meanings than any interpretation, as if the answer to every question came only through its existence.

Since you are emancipated, how can the cause of the prisoners be supported, and how will their suffering remain present in your life?
Omar and fun: Supporting the issue of the prisoners is not just a duty to perform, but rather an inherent part of our lives that were formed inside the families and beyond, we as editors and despite what we see from the silence of the world from the victory of our people and the end of the oppression from our people in Gaza, we must raise the voice amid the hustle and bustle of the war because the prisoners today live daily torture, and some wish for martyrdom as they sent us from the excessive, brutal and inhuman and inhuman negligence.
Therefore, the minimum required is to stop torture, and to stand for everyone who has strength and influence at his responsibilities and his conscience.
Our victory for them begins with the careful documentation of our experiences and experiences, and transfer them to the world with sincerity and clarity, in order to become a voice that cannot be ignored, the most important of all, to transform their suffering into a real change force by working to raise the nation’s awareness, and pushing it towards assuming its responsibilities towards this issue, which we can keep it alive, and give it an irreversible momentum.
Why does the world demand the Israeli soldiers detained in Hamas and ignore our prisoners with the occupation? By turning the facts, the enemy succeeded in highlighting the cause of Asa’ir as if they were the original owners of the land and photographing us as Palestinian prisoners as aggressive strangers.
The basic principle is that we work on the levels of popular diplomacy and not only official diplomacy that identifies with the occupation, their suffering will remain part of us, engraved in the details of our daily lives, leading us towards continuous commitment to their freedom, because it is not only their battle, but is the battle of justice and human dignity.
The Jerusalem Editors, Omar Sharif, and Merha Bakir, held their marriage in the Republic of Egypt, last week, coinciding with the day of the Palestinian prisoner.

If you give you a male baby, what will you call it, and what if you give you a female?
cheerful: When we began to think about the name of our next child, we stopped in front of the name “Saleh” with love and contemplation .. It was not just a passing name, but rather is part of a dear memory and an old dream, and the prisoners of Omar have long been called “Abu Saleh” being the eldest son of his parents, and the dream of his father who died while he was families was to have one of his sons with Saleh, and if this name was fulfilled in our lives, the joy will be doubled, and the words will be fulfilled.
As for choosing a name for our daughter, we are still on the journey of searching for a name that carries with it valuable values and meanings, and among the options that touch our souls, the name “Mary” highlights, and I touch me, especially because of the sanctity and purity it carries, after our great lady Mary, who embodied the most wonderful meanings of faith, strength, chastity and purity.
The choice of names for us is not just a decision, but rather an extension of our tales, and I hope that the future will carry meanings comparable to the depth and value of these names.
