The Hind Ragab Foundation announced – yesterday, Saturday, that it has identified the identity of the direct Israeli military official about the killing of the Palestinian girl, Hind Ragab and her family, and filed an official complaint to the International Criminal Court in The Hague accusing him of a war crime.
According to a statement by the Foundation, Lt. Col. Bani Aharron, Commander of the Armored Brigade 401 at the Israeli occupation army, is the direct official of the military operation that targeted the civilian car of Hind, in the Tal Al -Hawa neighborhood of Gaza City on January 29, 2024.
The statement added that the Foundation managed, after an investigation that lasted for more than a year, to identify the officers and soldiers of this battalion that carried out the attack, along with its field leaders and operating officers who were under the command of Aharron.
Her seventh birthday
On Friday, May 3, Hind was supposed to celebrate her seventh birthday. Instead, the organization, which was established after its killing, announced that the first steps of prosecution were taken by the Palestinian girl’s killers.
The statement pointed out that the Israeli tank unit, led by Aharron, was not satisfied with the bombing of the Hind family car, but later targeted an ambulance of the Palestinian Red Crescent sent to save the girl, killing a paramedic who was inside.
Hind, the injured and the terrified, survived hours and she was communicating with paramedics over the phone, whispering “I am very afraid … please come” before she died without helping her.
The statement stated that the ambulance teams found the body of Hind after 10 days of the attack, lying next to her cousin Lian, and the effects of the bombing and siege covered the place.
The Foundation confirmed that the complaint submitted to the International Criminal Court is based on a “legal work based on compelling evidence and accurate investigations” in which a team of legal experts participated in cooperation with research organizations, most notably “Forensic Arcketter”, adding that it is seeking to issue an arrest warrant against Aharron and other members of the involved unit.
“What we do is not a revenge, but rather a legal and moral commitment to a child who was killed while taking advantage,” said Diab Abu Jahjah (President of the Hind Ragab Foundation), adding, “Today, India should have been extinguished her birthday candles, and instead we declare an identity of her killer, and we will follow him by law and facts.”
The statement concluded by certainly that this step “The beginning of a long justice path” will continue in which the Foundation will continue to reveal the rest of those involved in the crime of Tal Al -Hawa neighborhood, as part of a continuous campaign against impunity in crimes against Palestinian civilians.
