The international agency launched the appeal on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the signing of the text founded to protect individual rights and freedoms on a planetary scale.
Volker Türk, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights: “Alongside the progress that has transformed many of our societies, there have also been numerous failures to protect human rights over the past 75 years years. We live among such failures today, with the turmoil and suffering they cause: war.”
