A US official said that the administration of President Donald Trump has been studying for several weeks a number of countries to send irregular migrants to it, including Libya, is likely to leave the first flight today, Wednesday.
Reuters quoted the official as saying that the United States may leave migrants to Libya for the first time this week, and that the American army may transfer the migrants to Libya today, Wednesday, “but the plans may change.”
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced that his country is searching for other countries, such as El Salvador, to deprive it of irregular immigrants from third countries, and had conversations with some countries in this regard.
The American “CNN” network quoted sources familiar with the talks as saying that the administration “discussed with Libya and Rwanda the possibility of sending migrants who have criminal records in the United States to these two countries.”
The deportation of migrants from third countries to Libya and Rwanda is likely to face legal challenges. Last month, a Trump’s federal judge temporarily prevented from deporting people to countries other than their countries without prior notification and providing them with an opportunity to object.
