A number of Palestinians were martyred and injured as a result of Israeli bombing targeting various areas in the Gaza Strip, while the resistance factions responded to a sudden incursion by the occupation forces into the Shujaiya neighborhood, destroying tanks and occupation vehicles and leaving Israeli soldiers dead and wounded.

Four Palestinians were killed and others were injured when the Israeli occupation army bombed tents for displaced people in the coastal Al-Mawasi area in the city of Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip.

Eyewitnesses reported that Israeli military vehicles advanced in a limited manner in the Shakoush area in the Mawasi area, fired shells at the tents of the displaced, and then retreated.

In another bombing, the Civil Defense Authority in Gaza announced the martyrdom of 3 of its members and the injury of others, as a result of being directly targeted by an Israeli aircraft in the middle of the Strip.

In turn, Al-Awda Hospital in Al-Nuseirat camp reported – in a statement – that it received 3 martyrs and 12 wounded, as a result of targeting a headquarters belonging to the Civil Defense Authority in Al-Nuseirat camp in the central Gaza Strip.

On the other hand, Tel Aviv Tribune’s correspondent reported that a martyr and a number of injured people, including 4 children, were killed in an Israeli occupation bombing that targeted a residential apartment in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood, east of Gaza City.

Tel Aviv Tribune’s correspondent also reported that a number of displaced Palestinians were injured, as they were living near Al-Khansa School, east of Khan Yunis, which was subjected to violent Israeli shelling.

The resistance confronts an operation in Shuja’iya

After the battles in Shujaiya witnessed a relative calm that lasted for weeks, during which the Israeli bombing did not stop, the battles broke out again, as the neighborhood witnessed fierce fighting from zero distance, after a sudden Israeli incursion that was confronted by the Palestinian resistance factions.

The Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas, announced that its fighters targeted a Merkava 4 tank with a Shawaaz bomb, and a Namer armored personnel carrier with a Yassin 105 shell, which charred the vehicle and killed everyone inside. Al-Qassam also announced targeting another armored personnel carrier with the same weapon.

For its part, the Al-Quds Brigades – the military wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement – announced that its fighters had destroyed two military vehicles with ground barrel bombs in the land of Qandil in the Shuja’iya neighbourhood.

The brigades also announced the destruction of an Israeli military vehicle near the Tunisian cemetery, east of the neighborhood, by detonating a “Thaqib” barrel bomb that it had previously planted.

On the other hand, in the Israeli account, Channel 12 said that the army launched what it called a surprise military operation in the Shujaiya neighborhood based on intelligence information about the presence of militants who had returned to the area and began working to restore their capabilities.

As for the Israeli radio, it explained that the operation launched by the army in Shuja’iyya is the third since the beginning of the war.

The radio added that the army launched the operation following intelligence information about the return of Qassam fighters to work there.

The Israeli military operation resulted in the displacement of thousands of families from the Shuja’iyya neighborhood to areas west of Gaza City, due to the violent targeting of the neighborhood by the Israeli army.

Anatolia Agency quoted a medical source as saying that dozens of martyrs and wounded, including children, women, and the elderly, arrived at Al-Baptist Hospital in the Shujaiya neighborhood.

Eyewitnesses also indicated that Israeli warplanes and artillery launched violent shelling simultaneously and without prior warning on the Shuja’iyya neighborhood, which led to the destruction of homes and the killing and wounding of those inside them, in addition to killing a number of citizens in the streets.

Witnesses said that thousands of families were displaced from the Shuja’iyya neighbourhood due to the heavy shelling and the Israeli army’s announcement of the start of a military operation there.

Operations by Al-Qassam and Al-Quds Brigades

Also on the ground, but in the south, the Al-Qassam Brigades said that they targeted an Israeli troop carrier in the Saudi neighborhood, west of Rafah, with an “Al-Yassin 105” shell, causing it to catch fire.

Al-Qassam reported that Israeli army helicopters landed at the targeted site to evacuate the dead and wounded.

The Al-Qassam Brigades also announced the sniping of an Israeli soldier east of Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip.

Also in Rafah, Al-Qassam announced that it had targeted an Israeli “Merkava” tank with an “Al-Yassin 105” shell in the Al-Shaboura neighborhood.

The Al-Qassam Brigades added that they bombed the Israeli army’s command room in the Netzarim axis with short-range “Rajum” missiles, and the occupation forces’ headquarters in the same axis with a short-range “107” missile.

In the Tel al-Hawa neighborhood, south of Gaza City, Al-Qassam announced targeting a gathering of occupation forces with an RPG shell.

As for the Al-Quds Brigades, it said that it had shelled a gathering of Israeli soldiers and vehicles in the Saudi neighborhood west of Rafah city with mortar shells.

It also announced the bombing of the “Sofa” military site, east of the city of Rafah, with mortar shells, as well as the vicinity of the Kissufim site with a batch of missiles.

The Al-Quds Brigades reported that they, in conjunction with the Al-Nasser Salah al-Din Brigades, bombed a gathering of enemy soldiers in the vicinity of the Kissufim site with a missile salvo.

The ongoing Israeli war on the Gaza Strip since October 7 has resulted in more than 124,000 Palestinian martyrs and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 10,000 missing, amidst massive destruction and famine that has claimed the lives of dozens of children.

Tel Aviv continues its war despite the UN Security Council resolutions to stop it immediately, and the orders of the International Court of Justice to end the invasion of Rafah, take measures to prevent acts of genocide, and improve the miserable humanitarian situation in Gaza.
