Israel Today newspaper reported that the head of the Israeli propaganda system (Hespra), Mushek Aviv, resigned from his position only months after his appointment, at a time when a former head of the Shin Bet admitted that Israel is going through a desperate circumstance that it has never witnessed before.

The Israeli newspaper said that Aviv took office about a month before last October 7, but he was subjected to harsh criticism for Tel Aviv’s inability to implement successful propaganda campaigns in the face of the Palestinian narrative that has spread widely around the world.

She noted that the head of the propaganda system informed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu this week that he would leave his position for “personal reasons.”

Executive directors of government ministries who worked with Aviv described his resignation as “a great loss for the State of Israel,” according to what Israel Today reported.

During the past weeks, a number of Israeli officials submitted their resignations against the backdrop of the war on Gaza, most notably the head of the Military Intelligence Division (Aman), Aharon Haliva, with expectations of a series of resignations in the army leadership, including chief of staff Herzi HalevyAnd his deputy, Amir Baram.

“desperate circumstance”

In a related context, former head of the Internal Security Service (Shin Bet), Yaakov Perry, said that he “does not remember that Israel has ever gone through a desperate circumstance like the one it is going through now.”

Perry added that the Israeli government does not include a leadership that can answer the questions of the concerned public.

He pointed out that Netanyahu expresses himself, sometimes speaks independently and apart from Cabinet decisions, and causes more confusion.

The Israeli arena is witnessing sharp disagreements and divisions against the backdrop of the continuation of the war on Gaza and accusing Netanyahu of seeking to prolong it for political and personal reasons, despite the huge losses incurred by the occupation army and the failure to achieve any of the declared war goals, most notably the recovery of detainees in Gaza and the elimination of Hamas.
