Refugees from Nagorno-Karabakh: the painful exile in Armenia

By joining the International Criminal Court (ICC) this Thursday, Armenia hopes to use the legal mechanisms now at its disposal to try to protect itself against its neighbor, Azerbaijan. Yerevan has fought two wars with Baku over the disputed Nagorno-Karabakh region. Last September, during a lightning offensive, Azerbaijani forces took control of this majority Armenian enclave, forcing tens of thousands of people to take refuge in neighboring Armenia. The latter, who now live in precariousness, dream of returning to live in their Nagorno-Karabakh. Taline Oundjian went to meet them.
