The American army carries out a new strike on the Houthis.

14 Yemeni rebel missiles reportedly destroyed.

According to the US Middle East Military Command, the missiles were ready for launch and posed an “immediate threat to merchant shipping” in the region.

This is the fourth US strike on the Houthis in less than a week.

Maj. Gen. Pat Ryder, Pentagon Press Secretary: “In our assessment, we hit what we intended to hit with good effect. Again, the goal here was to disrupt and degrade Houthi capabilities to carry out attacksand we believe that in total, in terms of range and the number of strikes we performed, we degraded their ability to attack.”

The Houthis are increasing attacks on merchant ships suspected of heading towards Israel.

On Wednesday, a drone damaged a bulk carrier belonging to an American company that was sailing off the coast of Yemen.

Up to 12% of global maritime freight passes through the Gulf of Aden and the Red Sea.
