Recep Tayyip Erdogan thanks Pedro Sanchez for his position on Gaza


The Turkish president on Thursday thanked the Spanish Prime Minister, who in recent months has become one of the most critical voices of Israel within the EU, for his positions on the conflict in Gaza.

Received at the Zarzuela Palace in Madrid, Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with King Felipe VI.

The Turkish president is visiting the country to participate in the eighth intergovernmental summit between Spain and Turkey.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan also spoke with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez and thanked him for his positions on the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip. The Spanish government notably officially recognized the State of Palestine on May 28.

Fourteen ministers from the two countries are participating in this summit which aims to promote economic development and relations between the two countries.
