As the raids and arrests in the West Bank continue, the occupation army said it would continue its campaign, while Washington called for an end to settler attacks, and Israeli leaders warned of an explosion of the situation.
The most prominent raids took place in Tulkarm, Nablus, Qalqilya and Tulkarm. The occupation forces also raided the village of Deir Abu Mash’al, west of Ramallah, and the towns of Hajja and Baqa al-Hatab, east of Qalqilya, as well as the town of Madama, south of Nablus, from its northern and eastern entrances.
These forces were deployed in various neighborhoods of the town, and the occupation soldiers fired live bullets, sound bombs, and tear gas. They detained a number of citizens in the vicinity of the town’s stadium, and abused them while searching them. The occupation forces searched a number of homes, confiscated surveillance camera recordings from them, and closed down the shops in the town.
Meanwhile, Tel Aviv Tribune’s correspondent reported that a Palestinian was injured when the Israeli occupation forces stormed the village of Tabqa, south of the city of Dura, south of Hebron. They also stormed the village of Imrish, south of Dura, set up a checkpoint, arrested a group of young men, confiscated their personal IDs and the keys to Palestinian vehicles, and then withdrew.
Settlers wearing Israeli army uniforms uprooted a fence in the village of Shaab al-Batm in Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron, and roamed around the village before withdrawing.
Warnings
The Israeli occupation army said that it will continue the military operation in the northern West Bank and the Jordan Valley region.
The army spokesman added that the military operation in the Tulkarm area and the Nour Shams camp resulted in the assassination of 10 armed young men and the injury of 15 others. Four laboratories for manufacturing explosive devices, as well as reconnaissance and communication rooms, were also destroyed. A car bomb was also destroyed in Tubas, which was carrying explosive devices and a remote-controlled operation system, according to the Israeli spokesman.
At the same time, Israeli media quoted the Minister of Defense and security services warning of an explosion of the situation in the West Bank, which could lead to the killing of hundreds of people in Israel.
US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller also called on Israel to change the rules of engagement in the West Bank.
Miller said in a press conference that there were cases of violent incidents carried out by settlers without the intervention of Israeli security, stressing the need for this to change.
