QuadCopter…a surveillance tool that turned into a lethal weapon against the Palestinians in Gaza | news

Since the start of the “Al-Aqsa Flood” battle on October 7, 2023, the Israeli occupation army has expanded the use of “QuadCopter” aircraft, which were originally developed for surveillance and monitoring, to become a direct killing tool that targets Palestinian civilians with explosive bombs and live bullets, turning it into a “robot soldier.” “He carries out field executions remotely.

These drones have radically changed the lives of civilians, tracking them in narrow alleys and attacking them inside their homes, causing waves of terror and destruction.

In Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir Al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip, many patients and wounded are lined up who were targeted by Quadcopter planes, including the Palestinian girl Sarah Al-Awadi, who was not more than 17 years old, and who was hit by a bullet that settled in her head, fired by a Quadcopter plane. The Israeli occupation army in the Al-Zawaida area in the central Gaza Strip.

Direct targeting of civilians

Sarah recounts the details of her injury on October 22, saying in an interview with Tel Aviv Tribune Net: “I was sitting preparing breakfast normally in the tent with my family, and suddenly I felt severe pain in my head, and when I put my hand on it, I discovered that blood was bleeding profusely.”

She added: “The Shader bullet penetrated the tent and entered directly into my head. I was subsequently transferred to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital to receive treatment, but no treatment was provided to me due to the complexity of my condition.”

The girl explains that her injury caused a fracture of the skull, and the bullet lodged in the canal of the left eye, leading to a retinal hemorrhage and pressure on the optic nerve, with severe impairment of vision, threatening the loss of her sight.

The Palestinian girl aspires to leave the Gaza Strip to receive the necessary treatment outside the Strip due to the complexity of her condition and the scarcity of medical capabilities necessary to diagnose her, with the Israeli occupation preventing her entry and destroying the remaining hospitals in Gaza.

In another incident, while the citizen Majed Dader was riding a donkey-drawn cart in the Nuseirat camp in the central Gaza Strip, a quadcopter suddenly appeared at the scene. Majed noticed that his nephew was standing under the plane, so he called him to warn him of its presence before throwing the bomb directly at them.

Majed told Tel Aviv Tribune Net: “I did not have time to adequately warn him, as the plane preceded me and dropped a bomb directly at us,” which led to the injury of him and his children, in addition to his sister’s children, with varying degrees of injury among them.

Danger haunts journalists

In the same context, photojournalist Hassan Al-Jadi, who lives in the northern Nuseirat camp in the central Gaza Strip, faces major and dangerous challenges during his journalistic work due to the use of Quadcopter aircraft by the Israeli occupation army, which restricted his movement and exposed him to repeated danger, which directly affected his life. His work and daily life.

He explained that the Quadcopter planes did not stop throwing stun grenades, explosive bombs, and firing bullets randomly, which prompted him to limit his movement and use narrow streets and alleys to avoid being injured or directly targeted.

The serious photojournalist added – in an interview with Tel Aviv Tribune Net – that these aircraft emit annoying and repetitive sounds at night with the aim of intimidating citizens, such as unreal sounds of children crying or dogs barking, which prompts residents to leave their homes to be targeted and killed.

He pointed out that the planes fire randomly at the camp, especially at night, and target anything moving during ground operations, pointing out that he documented many injuries to citizens and children from “quadcopter” planes, especially in the recent period.

Continuous suffering for medical teams

In the same context, ambulance officer Salah Abu Ghafra told Tel Aviv Tribune Net that the Israeli occupation army has been deliberately targeting medical personnel directly by shooting and targeting their cars since the beginning of the ongoing war of extermination on the Gaza Strip.

He pointed out that he was targeted several times when he was heading to the targeting sites to evacuate the injured, and as soon as they arrived at the targeted areas, they were targeted again, which exacerbated the number of injured.

Abu Ghafra stated that in one situation, he and his colleagues went to the Al-Maghazi area in the central Gaza Strip to evacuate a group of citizens, and upon their arrival at the site, they were exposed to direct fire from a Quadcopter aircraft, which hampered their efforts to provide first aid and led to the death of a number of the injured as a result of bleeding. atheism.

He added that medical teams were directly and suddenly surprised by Quadcopter planes while evacuating the wounded or heading to areas where there was an Israeli army incursion, due to their high speed of movement and shooting at medical teams.

Abu Ghafra concluded by saying: “On June 8, when a special force entered the Nuseirat camp in the middle of the Gaza Strip, the event was sudden and difficult amidst a great intensity of fire. We were surprised by a large number of Quadcopter planes in Nuseirat, firing randomly.” It was dense everywhere, which obstructed the arrival of ambulances and directly targeted anything that moved, which led to a significant increase in the numbers of martyrs and injured.”
