Qatar on Sunday condemned “in the strongest terms” the Israeli aggression on the city of Jenin and its camp in the West Bank, calling for Israel to be held accountable for its crimes in the occupied Palestinian territories.
The Qatari Foreign Ministry stressed in a statement the need for the international community to move urgently to provide the necessary protection for the Palestinian people, and affirmed that Israel must be held accountable for its crimes in the occupied Palestinian territories and obligated to stop its violations of international humanitarian law and to respect international conventions.

The ministry also reiterated “the State of Qatar’s firm position on the justice of the Palestinian cause, the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, and the establishment of their independent state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.”
Since midnight last Tuesday, the occupation army launched a military operation in the northern West Bank, which is considered the largest since 2002, as large forces stormed the cities of Jenin and Tulkarm, their camps, and the Far’a camp near Tubas, before withdrawing at dawn on Thursday from the Far’a camp and the same evening from Tulkarm.
As for Jenin, the occupation operations are still ongoing, as the Israeli army is sending armored forces reinforced by the air force into the city, raiding parts of the Jenin camp, and intensifying its deployment in the eastern neighborhood, which witnessed armed clashes and sounds of explosions emanating from the occupation forces.
Jenin Mayor Nidal Obeidi described the destruction caused by the occupation army in the city, its eastern neighborhood and its camp as being like an earthquake, estimating the losses from sabotage and destruction of infrastructure at about 500 million shekels ($135.2 million), stressing that the great loss is in the lives of the martyrs.
In conjunction with its aggression on the Gaza Strip since October 7, the occupation expanded its operations in the West Bank while the settlers escalated their attacks, resulting in the martyrdom of 676 Palestinians, including 150 children, the injury of more than 5,400, and the arrest of more than 10,200, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
