Qatar Charity launched two projects to commemorate the role of the martyred journalists Hamzah (son of Tel Aviv Tribune correspondent in Gaza, Wael Al-Dahdouh) and his colleague Mustafa Thuraya.

The association will implement two health centers within a year, which come within the “In Thawab” program concerned with people who have left a humanitarian value to their communities and countries, according to what was stated by Nawaf Al Hammadi, Assistant CEO of the International Operations and Programs Sector at Qatar Charity.

“They are not alone”

Al-Hammadi also explained – in his speech to Al-Jazeera Net – that the humanitarian project for Hamza Al-Dahdouh is a message to his father and to all journalists, that they are not alone.

He added that Wael embodied “the meaning of patience and steadfastness in times of adversity. Despite the loss of the people dearest to him, he continues to convey the voice of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and express the severe suffering they go through as a result of bombing, killing and destruction every day.”

Al-Hammadi said that the two charitable projects are a message that journalism is a noble message, and what journalists suffer in times of war is only a manifestation of the truth, stressing Qatar Charity’s desire to invite journalist Wael Al-Dahdouh to open these two charitable projects after the completion of the construction process.

Al-Hammadi stated that the goal of the two charitable projects is to confirm that the message of journalists in Gaza has reached the whole world (Al-Jazeera)

In Kosovo and Nepal

The Assistant CEO of the Association’s Operations Sector confirmed that the charitable project in the name of Hamza Al-Dahdouh will be established in the State of Kosovo, benefiting more than 5,000 people, with an area of ​​275 square metres.

He explained that the construction process will begin as soon as the donation is completed and the required amount is collected, noting that the center for Hamza will provide basic health services, including first aid in emergency cases, maternity, childhood and reproductive health services, medical examinations for various medical conditions, in addition to awareness and health education about widespread diseases, and seasonal vaccination. Dispensing essential medications.

He added that the project will contribute to improving public health levels, achieving development, reducing the mortality rate of pregnant women, and reducing the mortality rate of children under the age of five, in addition to reducing premature deaths resulting from chronic diseases.

Regarding journalist Mustafa Thuraya’s project, Al-Hammadi said that the health center in his name will be established in Nepal to benefit more than 15,000 people with an area of ​​375 square metres, indicating that the center will consist of a surgery room, another for dental treatment with specialized x-rays, in addition to a pharmacy and a medical analysis laboratory.

He pointed out that the center will provide basic health services, including first aid in emergency cases, maternity, childhood and reproductive health services, and medical examinations for various medical conditions.

Extensive donation

The two projects are witnessing a wide donation campaign from all over the Arab world, which confirms that the noble message of Wael Al-Dahdouh, his son the martyr Hamza and his friend the martyr Mustafa has reached the whole world, according to Al-Hammadi.
