Today, Wednesday, Qatar condemned the Israeli occupation forces’ bombing of Rafah, their invasion of the city’s land crossing, and the threat to displace Palestinians from shelter and housing centres, calling for international action to prevent the city from being invaded and the crime of genocide being committed.

The Qatari Foreign Ministry warned – in a statement – that forcing civilians to forcibly displace Rafah, which represents the last refuge for hundreds of thousands of displaced people inside the Gaza Strip, represents a serious violation of international laws and doubles the worsening humanitarian crisis in the besieged Strip.

The Foreign Ministry called for full protection of civilians in accordance with international law and international humanitarian law, and reaffirmed Qatar’s firm position on the justice of the Palestinian cause, the legitimate rights of the brotherly Palestinian people, and the establishment of its independent state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

This comes in light of the occupation’s mobilization of its forces and its continued threats to invade Rafah, following its forces’ control yesterday, Tuesday, of the Rafah crossing and the intensification of its raids on the city as part of its ongoing war on Gaza for the 215th day, which left tens of thousands martyred and wounded amid a worsening famine.
