Protects Israeli journalists and attacks others.. Anger on platforms over the occupation | News

Social media platforms circulated clips of some of those targeted by the Israeli occupation army during its ongoing military operation in the Jenin camp in the northern West Bank.

The circulating video does not show Palestinian fighters, but rather journalists carrying out their field duties. More dangerously, Palestinian journalist Shaza Hanaysha documented the moment an Israeli soldier pointed his weapon at a group of Palestinian journalists in the Jenin camp.

Shaza wrote on the video: “Israeli media accompanying the occupation soldiers during the ongoing military operation in Jenin camp. While the occupation soldiers protect the Israeli journalists, the occupation soldiers point their weapons at us.”

Journalists Ayman Al-Nubani and Mohammed Mansour were shot by Israeli occupation forces in the town of Kafr Dan, west of Jenin.

Social media sites were ablaze with comments on the occupation army’s assault on journalists, some of which were monitored in the episode (9/3/2024) of the “Networks” program.

Abdul Salam wondered in his tweet, “Does the world see a journalist carrying a camera and running away from a bulldozer as I see her? Or do they see weapons and bombs in her hand? Why this silence?”

For Rasha, “Anyone who tries to convey the truth is targeted in Palestine, in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, and all the occupied Palestinian territories. They do not want the world to see the crimes they are committing.”

Nader believes that “the courage of these journalists is not strange. I have seen journalists who were injured and returned to the field only in Palestine.”

Nour tweeted, “The occupation killed many journalists, Tel Aviv Tribune correspondents and their families. The occupation killed the correspondent, the doctor and the paramedic. They targeted them because they are among the most important groups in Gaza and targeted by the occupation.”

The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) described the attack on journalists as “systematic state terrorism practiced against journalists, aiming to obscure the truth and prevent journalists from performing their duty to convey the suffering of the Palestinian people.”

The Committee to Protect Journalists said that 116 journalists have been killed in Gaza and the West Bank since the beginning of the war on the Strip, 35 have been injured, and two journalists are missing.
