As the war in Gaza entered its 100th day, a global day “for Palestine” brought together tens of thousands of people around the world on Saturday, from Washington to Amman, to demand a ceasefire and stopping the war.

In the US capital in particular, protesters expressed their anger against the Joe Biden administration, demanding a complete halt to US aid to Israel.

In London, demonstrators drew attention to the desperate situation in Gaza, where there are no longer conditions for normal life. A mass protest action in the British capital featured a giant puppet called Little Amal (meaning “Hope” in Arabic).

The demonstration was supervised by some 1,700 police officers. A few arrests were reported on suspicion of supporting a terrorist organization and for inciting racial hatred.

In Israel, protesters also gathered to remind the government that more than 130 people remained hostages of Hamas. In central Tel Aviv, a facility was erected in the form of an underground tunnel similar to those where the hostages would be held.
