Russian justice has extended by two months the incarceration of the American journalist arrested last March, accused of espionage.
This Friday, a Moscow court ordered the incarceration until the end of March of Evan Gershkovich, an American journalist from the Wall Street Journal accused of espionage.
The hearing took place behind closed doors, in the presence of the Consul General of the United States, due to the classification of the facts by the Russian authorities, who did not publicly provide proof of their assertions.
Evan Gershkovich was arrested last March in Yekaterinburg. Russian intelligence services accuse him of having collected “information on the activities of a company in the Russian military-industrial complex” which would constitute a state secret according to them.
