This meeting takes place in a particular context, after the confirmation by NATO and the United States that North Korea has indeed sent troops to Russia as part of the war it is waging in Ukraine.

The security of the Korean Peninsula, as well as global security and tasks related to Poland’s membership in the United Nations Security Council will be the focus of the Polish President’s discussions in South Korea,

Top Polish and South Korean security officials already met on Wednesday and agreed to expand their countries’ defense cooperation.

South Korea recently signed a deal to purchase suicide drones from Poland to counter growing threats from North Korea.

During this visit, President Duda will visit the headquarters of the two leaders of the South Korean defense industry, Hanwha Aerospace and Hyundai Rotem.
