Their demands have not changed; for months they have been protesting against imports of Ukrainian agricultural products into the European Union, which would pass in particular through Slovakia. They are also opposed to the European Green Deal, considered too restrictive.
Still mobilized, Polish farmers blocked a border crossing with Slovakia, in Chyżne.
“We are fighting so that no one comes to our house, to dictate to us what we must do, how we must live, what we must produce. The farmer knows what he must produce, when he must go into his field, when he must plant, when he must mow, when he must do anything“, explains a farmer.
These demonstrations have created serious diplomatic tensions between Poland and Ukraine. And negotiations between farmers and Donald Tusk’s government are at an impasse.
While waiting to find a compromise with Warsaw, the movement continues and does not seem to be weakening after several months of mobilization.
