An explosion at an arms factory in Poland, in the town of Skarzysko-Kamienna, left one dead and several injured on Monday.
Local media report that the explosion sparked a fire and killed a 59-year-old worker.
Another employee was hospitalized after inhaling smoke, but his life prognosis is not engaged, according to local authorities.
“We had an explosion in the rocket fuel center, which was put into operation a few years ago“, said the factory’s president, Elzbieta Sreniawska.
The cause of the incident is currently under investigation.
The factory, which belongs to the state-owned Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa, produces defense products, anti-tank missiles and small arms ammunition.
Poland provided significant military support to Ukraine, leading to a significant increase in production at many local arms factories.
