India carried out missile strikes targeting 9 sites in the lands controlled by Pakistan at night, then followed the attacks this morning, Wednesday, with another bombing targeting 6 other sites.

With this new escalation, another page of constant tension between the two nuclear neighboring neighboring is opened.

India said that the attacks came in response to a massacre that killed 26 tourists in the Indian Kashmir, accusing terrorist groups in Pakistani lands of responsibility, which was completely rejected by Islamabad.

Despite the justification of the attacks as part of the “anti -terrorism”, the strikes were not without civilian victims.

The Pakistani authorities rushed to close schools and activate the state of emergency in hospitals that received many injured. Islamabad condemned the attacks and described it as a “war action” that requires a response.

Indeed, the Pakistani forces announced “retaliatory” strikes on Indian sites, while the Indian army spoke of the killing of 3 civilians after bombing from the Pakistani side.

The last escalation came at a sensitive time, after a series of tensions in the past weeks, starting from the attack on tourists in the Indian Kashmir, through an explosive device explosion in Pakistan that claimed the lives of 7 soldiers, in which Islamabad blamed Balochi and accusations of India to be behind its activities.

As part of the rapid reactions, India summoned its citizens from Pakistan, closed border crossings, and suspended the 65 -year -old Sindh Treaty.

Pakistan responded to the suspension of border trade, the closure of its airspace in front of Indian airlines, and the expulsion of Indian diplomats.

The international community’s dealings were cautious with developments; The United Nations expressed “deep concern” and called on the two parties to “the utmost restraint”, while the United States was satisfied with a statement saying it was “closely monitoring the situation.”

US President Donald Trump also called for a rapid calm of the situation, pointing to the long history of the conflict between India and Pakistan.
Although New Delhi asserted that her strikes were “limited” and “non -escalatory”, the situation on the ground is getting more complicated.
