Dozens of people were killed in an Israeli air raid on the Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza, according to a medical official and Palestinian authorities in the besieged territory.

Gaza’s health ministry said more than 50 people were killed in Tuesday’s attack and another 150 were injured. The Indonesian hospital director confirmed that more than 50 people had been killed.

Images and videos from the scene of the attack show badly damaged buildings as rescuers and volunteers use their bare hands to search for survivors in huge amounts of concrete debris.

People can be seen frantically trying to pull people out of the rubble – among the victims, many women and children. Others are seen standing and crying, fearing that family members and friends are among the dead.
