Pépé, Fofana, Haller… Ivory Coast with its stars at home


Ivory Coast will be able to count on its star players during the African Cup of Nations which it will host from January 13 to February 11, according to the list unveiled Thursday in Abidjan.

All the lights are green for Ivory Coast. The organizing country of the next African Cup of Nations will be able to count on its star players during CAN 2024, according to the list unveiled on Thursday, December 28, in Abidjan.

Attackers Sébastien Haller (Dortmund) and Nicolas Pépé (Trabzonspor), defender Wilfried Singo (AS Monaco) as well as midfielders Seko Fofana (Al-Nassr), Ibrahim Sangaré (Nottingham Forest) and Franck Kessié (Al-Ahli) are part of from the list of Elephants announced at a press conference by the coach, Frenchman Jean-Louis Gasset.

However, Galatasaray striker Wilfried Zaha and Besiktas central defender Eric Bailly were not called up.

Ivory Coast is part of Group A, in which it will challenge Guinea-Bissau, Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea.
