Groups of masked and armed men, called “People’s Protection Committee”, patrol Rafah, on the lookout for black market prices. The group, created by armed factions and the Hamas-led Interior Ministry, says it is taking over the role of municipal police that were disbanded following Israeli strikes against its forces.
