Doha- Experts and politicians participating in the Doha Forum in Qatar agreed on the importance of working to achieve a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip first and not addressing the post-war phase, stressing that the Palestinian people alone are the ones who decide their future, and that one should not think about the fate of a people without Be involved in his decision.

The participants stressed that the United States is the only one capable of imposing a solution to this crisis, which has proven that a “multipolar world” does not exist, as it uses its veto against any draft resolution to stop the war or even a truce, reaching absolute support for Israel in all political and military aspects.

For his part, the Minister of State in the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Khulaifi, called, during a session entitled “Palestine has become a global crisis…Does it have a global solution?”, to focus on the ceasefire and give it the highest priority, explaining that this is what Qatar is working on in coordination. With other countries. He stressed the need for the international community to shoulder its responsibilities as well.

Minister Al-Khulaifi said, “We need to do more and focus on that the top priority is a ceasefire and helping the people of Gaza, and this is what we are working on with our partners in the international community.”

He pointed out that since the first hours of the war, the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs formed a working team “with the aim of cooperating with the international community to prevent the conflict from expanding beyond its borders, and to prevent regional and international powers from interfering, which could lead to the aggravation and escalation of this conflict.”

Messages

Al-Khulaifi pointed out that any force working to escalate and worsen the situation in this “conflict” will complicate mediation efforts aimed at finding a solution to the issue, so Qatar worked to convey this message clearly, “as we communicated with a large number of regional countries, because coordination is extremely important instead of escalating the situation.” .

He continued, “We spoke with the United States, Iran, and all countries in the region, especially prominent and international stakeholders. It is important to unite, cooperate, and discuss transparently all elements of this crisis to avoid any interference that leads to escalation of the situation.”

Partnership internationally

Al-Khulaifi said that Palestine “occupies a very important place on our international relations agenda and has priority in global affairs, and we contribute with the international community to support and assist the Palestinian people. We have been transparent in providing humanitarian aid to the people in Gaza, and establishing infrastructure in direct coordination with our international partners, including The United Nations, and we do this for free, but it is our commitment and duty towards our brothers in Palestine.”

Regarding the post-war scenario, he stressed that the State of Qatar will not change its responsibility, which is to “help our brothers,” and “we will do this in an organized manner as we did before and in cooperation with our regional and global partners to ensure that our aid reaches those most exposed to conflicts.”

The minister pointed out that this assistance includes “supporting infrastructure, health care, education and assisting the education of the Palestinian people,” which is what we highlight and do in all countries of the region, not just Gaza, he explained.

An international peace mission

For his part, Dr. Huiyao Wang, founder and president of the Center for China and Globalization (CCG) and former advisor to the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, said that his country, in its capacity as president of the Security Council, proposed a draft resolution for a ceasefire, but it was overturned by the American veto, noting the importance of Holding an international conference that includes the Big Five countries, the Palestinian Authority, and Israel to dialogue and come up with solutions to this crisis.

Wang proposed sending a United Nations peace and security mission to the Palestinian territories, explaining that this proposal is solvable, but first a ceasefire must be worked on and the foundations for the work of this force must be established.

In turn, the head of the Palestinian diplomatic mission to the United Kingdom, Ambassador Hossam Zomlot, said that Israel is practicing mass murder among the Palestinian people, and the issue is not just the issue of 17,000 martyrs, but has extended to include the infrastructure, including schools, hospitals, universities, and even archaeological buildings, including the third oldest. A church in the world, in addition to one of the oldest mosques in the world, which is the Al-Omari Mosque.

Regarding the post-conflict scenario, Zomlot said, “It is not possible to talk about this stage without reaching a comprehensive cessation of the war, because the situation is unbearable, and the focus must also be on the siege, settlements, violence, and apartheid.”

He explained that the policy of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, which has been ongoing for 25 years, is to undermine any possibility of a two-state solution and to reinforce racism, and that any future stage in the Palestinian territories is a private matter decided by the Palestinians only.

Zomlot added in an exclusive statement to Tel Aviv Tribune Net that it has become clear that the problem is neither in international law nor in international politics, as everyone is demanding a ceasefire, but the problem lies in the United States, which deals with the Palestinian issue and Israel not through the law, but through a local perspective. American.

According to Zomlot, this matter “makes the United States unable to deal with logic or balance, which is something it has clearly lost by dealing with this crisis.”

The Palestinian ambassador did not object to a proposal to send a UN peacekeeping mission to the Palestinian territories, on the condition that it be temporary, be in Jerusalem, the West Bank and Gaza, and not be limited to one place, and that it have powers during a transitional phase to end the occupation. He said, “We accept any international force to end the occupation, but we do not accept guardianship from any party.”

American-Qatari coordination

On the other hand, the US Ambassador to Doha, Timmy Davis, said in a statement to Tel Aviv Tribune Net that the United States is committed to cooperating with Qatar and other regional partners in seeking to reach a long pause in the fighting in the Gaza Strip.

Davis added that these pauses or truces will undoubtedly contribute to mutual benefits for both parties, including being able to release all “hostages” in Gaza, protect civilians, and continue providing vital aid to the Strip, stressing that “the United States is also focused on planning for a stable and secure future for the Palestinian people.” .

Global deficit

As for former Egyptian Foreign Minister Mohamed Al-Orabi, he said in a statement to Tel Aviv Tribune Net, “We are facing a major crisis that the world stands helpless in the face of, and the global system has become the subject of questions and skepticism about its effectiveness and feasibility.” Stressing at the same time that the solution to this crisis has two parts, one global and the other regional.

He added that the regional solution is the basis, and from it we move to the global one, but at the present time we find that the global solution is not available, but rather places obstacles and restrictions in front of any solutions, pointing out that the current crisis will have many negative repercussions during the coming period in terms of reconsidering relations. The international system, its formation, and the efficiency of the multilateral global system that everyone adheres to.

Al-Orabi stressed that the multilateral international system has proven that it is unable to take any decisive measures in global issues, which began from the Ukraine crisis to the war in Gaza, indicating that this matter confirms the clear deterioration of the global system and is in itself a source of concern for everyone.

He pointed out that the Gaza crisis proved that there is no multipolar system, but what we currently see is a “unipolar world,” where the United States is considered the only one capable of stopping the war, but it uses its power to stop any attempt to end it, whether through the use of its veto in the Security Council or its intervention. Direct military action in war.
