If there was any doubt about the intentions of the State of Israel towards the Palestinian people, the actions of that state since October 7 have made the end of the war very clear: Israel is determined to expel the Palestinians from Gaza and the West Bank, and Israel – run by right-wing extremists – is carrying out its own method of cleansing. Ethnic, and ultimately aims to erase Palestinian identity forever.

For weeks, the international community has condemned what Hamas committed and condoned the atrocities committed by the IDF, which – as of this writing – led to the killing of more than 20,000 Palestinian civilians, most of them women and children. This large number of innocent victims has made Gaza hell on earth, and the besieged Palestinians are left without a shelter to protect them from the continuation of this massacre.

For generations, Israel has been determined to rewrite history, distort facts, and create developments on the ground in the West Bank and Gaza Strip that strip the Palestinians of their humanity. This is a psychological and mental war strategy that Israel has been waging for more than seven decades now, based on the saying: “A land without a people for a people without a land.” These measures have led to the stripping of the Palestinian population of their most basic rights to a decent living. The process of dispossession and extermination – carried out by Israel – continues to this day.

Stripping naked

In recent years, Israelis have likened Palestinians to cockroaches, insects, cancer and, of course, “terrorists.” It is a comprehensive term that gives Israel permission to attack any Palestinian, anywhere. The pace of dehumanization and humiliation has escalated since October 7th.

Recently, for example, the IDF detained Palestinian civilians — “with no connection to Hamas” — wearing their underwear. It was necessary to strip these men, as a senior advisor to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu explained; Because of the warm weather in Gaza.

The humiliation and forced “deportation” of Palestinians has been an important goal of Israeli leaders for decades. Netanyahu, for example, has called for the “massive expulsion of Arabs from the Palestinian territories,” and the war of extermination in Gaza has provided him with a long-awaited pretext to do so.

Recently, the US government advised Israel that Gaza should remain Palestinian. In November, Secretary of State Antony Blinken said: “There is no reoccupation of Gaza after the end of the conflict. There is no attempt to blockade Gaza. There is no reduction in the territory of Gaza.” However, Israel is determined to continue its policy of racial discrimination, humiliating and exterminating the Palestinians in their own homes.

Empty statements

American warnings seem hollow, as Israel continues to repeatedly cross the red lines set by the American administration, and as a result, the United States suffers one insult after another. This behavior prompted senior American officials, during their repeated visits to Israel, to urge restraint, and each trip seemed more sterile than the previous one, to the point that American officials appeared as if they did not understand the despicableness of the Israeli game.

It is enough that Netanyahu revealed his intentions very clearly: “Israel will do what it needs to do,” regardless of any wishful thinking on the part of the United States, and in doing so he is not only insulting the United States, but also the entire international community.

On the other hand, the countries of the world condemn America’s hypocrisy and double standards towards the Palestinians. On the one hand, it encourages “humanitarian aid”, and on the other hand, it provides intelligence and weapons to Israel. Which enabled it to continue slaughtering innocent Palestinians.

Israel has fired more than 30,000 air-to-surface missiles into Gaza, nearly half of which were “dumb bombs,” designed to inflict maximum death and damage on Palestinian civilians. Since October 7, the United States has supplied Israel with tens of thousands of artillery shells and “bunker-busting” bombs, each bomb weighing 2,000 pounds.

The duplicity and standards of the United States are evident when it uses its veto power and opposes the ceasefire under the pretext that these decisions are unbalanced. This is despite the fact that the interests of the United States are rapidly diverging from the interests of Israel. However, the United States remains the largest factor in the continuation of this massacre and the empowerment of Israel. And give it the “green light.”

Continue the massacre

It seems that Israel is determined to continue this massacre, besiege the Palestinians, and cut off all supplies of water, medicine, electricity, food, and fuel. Human Rights Watch (HRW) referred to this psychological warfare in cutting off humanitarian aid, and explained that Israel’s actions constitute a war crime.

The United Nations says: 576,600 Gazans are living in a “catastrophic” level of famine. The World Food Program indicates that 90% of Gaza’s population regularly lives without food for an entire day.

Although the war in Gaza is extremely disturbing, it has created a unique opportunity for peacemakers. It is time for the United States government to take courageous decisions, including stopping sending weapons to Israel, those weapons that exterminate innocents, and to exert pressure to bring the Israelis to the negotiating table.

If history is repeating itself, the role the United States played in creating the State of Israel seventy-five years ago should be a similar role now in recognizing the Palestinians’ right to self-determination.

In choosing between genocide or establishing a state, the United States must be the main supporter in the world for the two-state solution, as this is the only way to implement peace in the Middle East.
