Palestinians in Gaza celebrate ceasefire between Israel and Hamas | Israeli-Palestinian conflict News

Celebrations erupted across Gaza after a ceasefire took effect in the war-ravaged territory on Sunday morning.

The ceasefire was announced more than two hours later than expected due to a dispute between Israel and Hamas over who should be released under the deal.

Earlier Sunday, Hamas named three prisoners it plans to release later today.

Israel’s cabinet approved the ceasefire on Saturday in a rare session during the Jewish Sabbath, more than two days after mediators Qatar, Egypt and the United States announced the deal.
