The Palestinian presidency and the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) welcomed the joint statement issued by the leaders of Britain, France and Canada, which called on Israel to stop the war of genocide on the Gaza Strip and waved taking measures against Tel Aviv if a war did not stop. While Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu criticized the statement and considered it a major prize for the attack of October 7, 2023, as he described it.

The official Palestinian News Agency (Wafa) quoted the presidency, describing it to show the leaders of the courage and saying that it is consistent with its position calling for saving and implementing the two -state solution, immediately stopping the aggression, release the detainees and prisoners, the withdrawal of the occupation forces from Gaza, the introduction of humanitarian aid, and the prevention of displacement.

The situation was considered a call from the international community to stop the continuous aggression against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including Jerusalem. The Palestinian presidency renewed its emphasis on the need for the state of Palestine to take over the civil and security responsibility in the Gaza Strip.

Hussein Al -Sheikh, the Palestinian Vice President, also welcomed, on his expense with the X platform, calling on the three countries to recognize the State of Palestine.

For its part, Hamas said in a statement that it welcomes the joint statement “which expressed an initial position rejecting the policy of the siege and starvation pursued by the fascist occupation government against our people in the Gaza Strip, and for the Zionist plans aimed at genocide and forced displacement.”

The movement considered this position an important step in the right direction towards re -consideration of the principles of international law, which the Netanyahu government sought to undermine and overthrow.

Hamas called for its urgent translation into effective practical steps that deter the occupation, and put an end to the worsening human tragedy in the Gaza Strip.

The movement appealed to the Arab and Islamic countries, the European Union, and other countries of the free world, to urgently move and take firm positions and concrete measures “to stop the barbaric Zionist aggression, and to curb the continuous occupation crimes.”

Hamas demanded that Israel be held accountable, and its leaders are punished as war criminals, in order to ensure the protection of civilians, and to put an end to the occupation, the war of genocide and ethnic cleansing that the Palestinian people are exposed to in the Gaza Strip.

On the other hand, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the leaders of Britain, Canada and France are presenting what he called a major prize for the attack of October 7 by asking Israel to end its war on Gaza, as he claimed.

Western leaders statement

Earlier, the leaders of France, Britain and Canada were threatened on Monday in a joint statement to take action against Israel if the genocide that it has launched on the Gaza Strip has not stopped since October 7, 2023.

“We will take measures if Israel does not stop its attack in Gaza and lift the restrictions on aid,” the leaders said in their statement.

“We strongly oppose the expansion of Israeli military operations in Gaza, that the level of humanitarian suffering in Gaza is unbearable,” the leaders said.

The statement stipulated that “if Israel does not stop its new military attack and raise the restrictions it imposes on humanitarian aid, we will take other concrete steps in response to this.”

The statement stressed the refusal to expand settlements in the West Bank. “He added,” We may take measures, including sanctions. “

He stressed that Israel’s refusal to provide basic aid to civilians in Gaza is unacceptable.

Western leaders demanded Israel to stop its military operations in Gaza and allow immediate entry to aid.

The statement stated that the declaration of Israel allowing a small amount of food to enter Gaza is not sufficient at all.

These developments came after the Israeli occupation army announced the day before yesterday, Sunday, the launch of a ground operation in several areas inside the Gaza Strip as part of the start of what it called the Gideon vehicles operation, in a serious escalation within the war of constant extermination on the Strip 20 months ago.

Since the second of last March, Israel continues a systematic starvation policy for about 2.4 million Palestinians in Gaza, by closing the crossings in the face of assistance accumulated on the border, which introduced the sector to the stage of starvation and claimed the lives of many.

Earlier, yesterday, Monday, the Israeli Finance Minister of Salamel Smotrich vowed to starve and destroy the remainder of the Gaza Strip, and to displace the Palestinians from its south.

With an American support, Israel has committed since October 7, 2023 genocide crimes in Gaza, which left more than 174,000 Palestinians between a martyr and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 11 thousand missing, along with hundreds of thousands of displaced people.
