Palestinian Prisoners Affairs Authority: The occupation continues to abuse prisoners | News

The Palestinian Prisoners Affairs Authority reported on Wednesday that Israeli occupation forces have arrested at least 30 Palestinians since Tuesday evening in the occupied West Bank, including children and former prisoners.

The Commission confirmed that the situation of prisoners in the occupation prisons is still bad, with the continuation of retaliatory punishments and continuous threats, as the occupation prison administration wages a psychological and physical war on prisoners under false pretexts and without justification.

She added that the occupation continues its practices of abuse, torture and retaliatory war against prisoners in the Negev prison.

On the other hand, the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) confirmed that the spread of infectious diseases among Palestinian prisoners is new evidence of the disastrous conditions they live in in Israeli prisons.

Hamas said that the torture of prisoners, their medical neglect, and the oppression they are subjected to, all indicate that the occupation government is pursuing a policy of deliberate killing against them.

Palestinian prisoners’ institutions also reported that the occupation authorities continue to use the crime of enforced disappearance against detainees in the Gaza Strip, which is considered a crime against humanity.

These institutions called on the international human rights system to take steps to hold the occupation accountable, pointing to the lack of accurate information on the number of detainees from Gaza, estimated at 1,584 detainees described by the occupation authorities as “illegal combatants.”

The number of confirmed arrests since the occupation announced the latest military campaign in the West Bank has reached more than 180 Palestinians, according to the Prisoners Affairs Authority and the Palestinian Prisoners Club. These arrests include children and former prisoners, as well as field investigations, severe beatings, the use of police dogs, and the vandalism of homes.

The Commission stated that the occupation forces have arrested more than 10,400 citizens from the West Bank, including Jerusalem, since the beginning of the ongoing war of extermination against the Palestinian people, and that the data on arrests in Gaza – estimated in the thousands – is not complete.
