Palestinian martyred during arrest in Jenin | News

Israeli forces on Monday handed over to Palestinian authorities the body of a man who was killed hours after being arrested in Jenin in the West Bank, as the occupation continues a massive military campaign for the sixth consecutive day.

The Palestinian Red Crescent said it received the body of Ayman Rajih Abed, 58, from the village of Kafr Dan, just outside Jenin, after his arrest at dawn today.

Director of Jenin Governmental Hospital, Wissam Bakr, explained that the body bore signs of beating and torture.

The Israeli military said Abed was detained during “counter-terrorism operations” and suffered a “heart attack” upon arrival at a detention center.

An army medical team provided him with first aid before evacuating him to the hospital in Jenin, according to the occupation’s account.

The incident occurred as Israeli forces expanded their operations in Jenin to villages surrounding the city, where bulldozers continued to dig up streets and main roads to find bombs.

Hundreds of soldiers, backed by drones and helicopters, took part in the operation, which caused extensive damage to homes and infrastructure in Jenin and the crowded refugee camp next to the city.

During the military operation, at least 29 Palestinians were killed, including resistance members.
